With CBT art image (by Mike Jackson) for comparison. I've tried to stick as much as possible to the source images for these.They are not meant to be realistic renders, the materials are chosen to sort of look like illustrations at small scale.

Yeah, plasma rifles are about the only thing missing from the succession wars period.
I've always felt the art for the gauss rifle makes it look a little dumpy, but that's' the design they went for and I'm not going to give it a make over... tempting though it is.

The design is really hard because we never truly had coil guns or valid and effective designs when they were introduced in real time.Ā They definitely do not look like this nowadays though.
By the way the introduction date for the plasma rifle is 3068, but prototypes may have been in the Clan invasion Era.
