I look at this and think, Why the heak haven't we gotten any of these parts to use in bases? A pratoren tech upgrade for bases would be very good.

Upgrading bases has definitely been discussed. It'll take a tech upgrade first, to do it right. Definitely something we'd like to do though.

If you’re going to go for a significant revision of the base design tech instead of gust adding new items might I suggest breaking some things down into smaller chunks that can be combined. I remember wanting to create a really big monitor but not being able to. I eventually combined 6 large ones to create the size I wanted but it didn’t look as good as I wanted. But creating something that has a border with a repeating inner pattern that could create objects of indefinite size and shape would be very useful.
I’d also like to see the basic aria of the base being more malleable. Allow for more stories a skylight and an outside aria. And you really need to invent some explanation as to just where these bases are located at. I’d recommend parking it in the same sort of space as pocket D. You could even have an missions from DJ that ends with him allowing you to part your place there as a repayment of a favor. I’d also recommend doing away with gathering an infinite amount of coins paid to random places and instead do missions for him to expand and improve the base.
And I’d also like to suggest that it would be a good time to reexamine the idea of personal apartments.
And think about including a drop box somewhere For trading between toons and players. Email simply doesn’t make much since.
OK I really didn’t plan on this message to be so long. Sorry. :/

Bases are something we'd love to get to in earnest, but our Producer mentioned recently that the tech is somewhat "fragile." We've got a ton of job postings for engineers--perhaps if we could fill some of those...

Have you mentioned this on the forums? Because all I've heard about it is something like, "Were working in it." And considering that most of us who run around pretending to where tights and beat up bad guy are rather adolescent in one way or another it sounds like when a kid's parents ask them to clean there room and we say "I'm working on it." Now I don't really need to ex plane what they're really saying do I?
Details. explanations. Even stuff you think is over our heads this is stuff that says "It's really hard but were working on it." And who knows we have some smart people around some of us might find a way to help.
We used to get all these hints and ideas about what your going to include. We'd argue and discuss the idea endlessly even years later. But at some time that stopped. I had assumed that you didn't want those good ideas to be stolen by your competitors. Well now DCOU is out. It can't compete. There is no reason to keep silent. Now that might not be the right resign but if you don’t give us one will make one up.
I like what you did with the space set. Letting us get in on the ground floor of the concept. This is a good thing this is something that’ll keep us interested far beyond the limits of the game. I’d like to see a new section of the forum started dedicated specifically to the donation of concept sketches and ideas. Away from those make X and X power set super god mode by making it good stuff. That kind of thing make my eyes roll into the back of my head and I end up ignoring the whole thing?

We're really excited about the prospects of bringing you guys even deeper into the fold when it comes to asset creation--wait 'til you see what we're thinking of for future player summits... But yeah, I'm well aware that our playerbase is a smart group of people, so I don't shy away from telling you the specific technical reasons about why we don't do something. Bases are a situation where I actually don't understand the specifics at all. All I know is that it's going to require a lot of smart coders--that we don't currently have but desperately want--to take it to the level we've got in mind for it.
