Description
Gravix, suited up in the mechus combat titan(CT) Mechus is equipped with an arsenal of weapons: Dual multi round zamor sphere launchers, two shoulder mounted missile launchers, and when artillery doesn't get the job done he has a laser edge battle sword. Gravix is an experienced pilot and soldier. His ability to drive a CT suit surpasses any of his fellow toa. His skill projectile weapons contributes to this. Mechus is a a custom CT suit made specifically for Gravix's physiology and abilities. Mechus is no lumbering giant. While he isn't as agile and maneuverable as say Mototaur and Ryakk he can definitely move with speed. Mechus has three energy cores that power the suit. Two built into the calves and one smaller one on the back. The ammo for any CT suit when on the battle fieldSeveral things went into inspiring the look feel, and function of this MOC. I was thinking Power loader from aliens seen here [link] for the interface of the two characters, as well as the front cage design, as well as the matrix's APU seen here [link] for some of the look of the Mech over all, all that with a little japanese style mech thrown in with the look of armor and accents. I had Built gravix gravix and thought he would make a good mech pilot. HEHEHE I was right.
Edit
Here is a view with the cockpit open for a better view of gravix inside of mechus.

Okay, so you make a toa that's on par with mine, then you build a giant mech that not only fits a toa inside it, but actually moves with the toa's limbs. Congratulations, you get a badge of approval.

Thanks man. This was my answer to the question "how do I one up myself after Mototaur?" I build Ryakk, and wanted to outdo myself, so I built Mototaur, then I wanted to do it again, so I did this. But now mechus is disassembled and when I can order parts. I'm gonna redo him and incoporate HF since HF parts are perfect for this build. They've got the right look, and they love using gunmetal. Its in just about everything now it seems.

He's actually my most stable of all three the colossi. Having the figure inside supporting things really helps. Take gravix out, and the Mech isn't that stable.

Yeah. its kinda like having a skeleton in side of it. It works pretty well in the legs. I just need to redesign the upper parts to make the arms work better with gravix' movement.

He can yeah. He's locked into the legs which are hollow at the thigh, and his hand connects to a part on the arm and when the arm moves it moves but this design isn't all that good. I need to go back and totally rework all that. Maybe Hero Factory parts will make that more possible.

thank you. I need to post better pictures of him. also, he's overdue for a revamp, more structural than visual, cause as you so well put it, he looks cool. Gravix is pretty much where I want him.

Thank you. Yeah the cage(as I call it) opens and closes. then those beams on the side connect in back. I actually need to set it up where you have to take the ball joint out of the socket to open the cage up its was something I over looked in redoing the spine for mobility. He'll be getting another revamp/redesign after I fix mototaur. Ah so many MOCs so little time.

Sounds like a plan to me... good luck, though it's extremely impressive you've allready gotten the suit so complex that he actually sits incide an enclosed cockpit.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2010-05-20 16:48:09 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. And he doesn't really sit there. he's standing in side it. his legs are attached to the inside of Mechus's legs and he moves freely within the cockpit. he is connected at four points, the two feet and his had controls. I used to have gravix's torso attached to the mechus torso as well but I thought it would be more authentic if he was free to move in the torso space, plus that allows for more movement of mechus cause when his leg moves backwards gravix moves down within the cockpit space. When he was anchored into the torso he could move so his legs had more limited movement.

Cool thanks. I don't really put so much thought into the hypothetical logistics, but with these things you have to do that to a point when designing something like Mechus, or with mototaurs pneumatic suspension system.

I wouldn't call it a necessary evil I don't mind the complex explinations and forethought its fun, I just don't get like massively into it like some bionicle fans do.

I don't ignore the mythology of bionicle I just kinda go from a certain point and just write my own story. That whole BS with bara magna is stupid. Plus knowing who mata nui ruins the magic for the whole thing. For so long we went along thinking that mata nui was the God equivalent and makuta(or later known as makuta teridax) was the Satan equivalent. With that in mind we all sorta gauged our characters off that. But then they totally pussed out mata nui and buttfucked the story into crap. It just all around sucked.
