Description Matteo in a victorian style top hat, and other eccentricities. I threw the tail on cause it looked cool. I got bored and did this. I will not be keeping him this way. Think of this as a flash back version of Matteo.

Sepia added with

Matteo gets laughed at a lot by pestilus and the others for this. In his defense..."it was how the times were back then."

You know you like it XD World needs MOAR TOPHAT XD
Yeah, the sepia works great. It looks really awesome, like an old Victorian portrait.

I love victorian style dress, the capes, top hats, monocles, all that. The Woman's stuff to. I like that whole aesthetic, cause of how dark it is. If I could sew I would have made a special cape and outfit just for this little occasion and would periodically throw it back on him. But I have no textile skills so I wanted to do a portrait feel but I didn't really plan it, so I don't think I quite nailed it. I might give it another go though. If I make a new one should I replace the photo in this one or create a second deviation for it?

Me too XD I've never made anything technically Victorian, although I do have a cape and lots of renaissance outfits. I love the whole renaissance period, it's fascinating. Hmm...Now I might just have to get myself a nice tophat and a monocle XD Maybe I'll throw some Victorian elements into the plague doctor costume I'm working on...I'll see how it goes

If it turns out really similar I'd just replace it, but if the new one comes out totally different I'd upload it separately. That's what I'd do anyway ;D

Same here. I made Matteo italian because the renaissance took place mostly in italy. But victorian is way past. Its kinda like Matteo went through the renaissance and all these other periods cause he's immortal, and then dresses back up in a period that he likes. Sorta like "oh I remember when this was in stile I think I'll wear this."

Okay, well I would pose him different for sure. I dunno, I spam my watchers enough with him maybe I'll wait a while and do it later.

Yeah, that's awesome XD I love the Italian renaissance period. Whenever I get the chance to travel again, Italy is definitely at the top of my list.

Sounds good to me

I really want to visit Italy one day, Italy, china, and Japan(if it doesn't accidentally get supernuked).

Me too. There is so much to see in Italy, I would love to be able to see it all. I also have kind of a morbid fascination with the "haunted island" of Poveglia just off of Venice, so I'd love to see that as well...even though you can't actually go to the island I'd be happy to see it from shore XD I'm also a bit of an architecture nut, and you can't get much better than Italy when it comes to amazing architecture.

I really hope Japan gets through this...All the talk of radiation makes me nervous. All I can think of is the irradiated wastelands of Fallout 3...with mutants all over the place....bleh.. I know it won't come to that, but I can't help thinking it...

I'm interested in Architecture to, not really as someone who wants to do it, more as just an appreciator of it.

Yeah me to. Yeah nothing like that is gonna happen, and people over here in the US don't really have anything to worry about, by the time any radiation got here it'd be so diluted it would be harmless. We're surrounded by radiation, but its so insignificant to matter. But its scary to think of how that would affect the world over all if it happened.

Yeah, same here. I just love looking at and exploring interesting buildings, especially old Cathedrals and castles.

Yeah, I heard on the news that the radiation levels that hit the US were something like a million times below dangerous levels.

Me to, I like the pointeness of some of them. Ruins are cool to its like architecture, but broken.

Yea so we wouldn't be physically hurt by japan getting renuked. Man they have the worse luck with radiation, though they were asking for it last time.

Ruins are fascinating. I found some ruins on the way home from school once, but they were behind a bunch of fences so I couldn't explore them. It's sad because the next time I passed them someone had scribbled horrible graffiti all over them...Some people have no respect for history.

Yeah, they don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to radiation

WOW Really!? What kind were they? Taggers have no respect for anything.

No they don't. Oh well, they got godzilla as a result so eh.

They were stone walls on a sort of tiered hillside. It looked like they may have been part of a building at some point. It was really cool. I wish I could have gotten a closer look, but they weren't exactly in an easy location to get to, not to mention the fences.

lol true

Oh that's cool. Could you tell like from what era the building might have been from?

Taggers just see surfaces they can tag, they don't think about what it is or who it belongs to. I come from a city that has pretty high crime and ganges, so graffiti is something I've seen a whole lot of. Public walls buildings, street signs people's houses, even the sidewalks get tagged.

Demonic-Chaos In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-04-01 03:57:45 +0000 UTC]

Not really. It's hard to tell. Plus the road they are off of is a freeway, so I usually go by them pretty quick. They didn't look terribly ancient to me, just old. Like early American settlers perhaps. But that's just a guess, I really have no idea XD

I see the occasional tagged wall here and there, but there isn't much of it where I live.

Ah I see.

I've pretty much lived in crappy neighborhoods all my life, and I come from literally the worst City in all of california, a little armpit of the world by the name of Stockton CA.

I've heard of Stockton, but I've never been there so I'll take your word for it.

Well that's cool. You're not missing anything. Last year stockton was rated as forbes magazine's second most miserable city in the US, first being Cleveland Ohio. We suck so bad we can't even be the best at being the worst.

Yeah....misery was determined by factors like weather, crime, foreclosure rates, economy, traffic, and shit to do in town. We had nicer weather than cleveland. OMG That icon captures my expression so perfectly.

Demonic-Chaos In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-04-03 02:30:33 +0000 UTC]

XD Awesome when icons do that

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Demonic-Chaos [2011-04-03 05:05:57 +0000 UTC]

Eh, thinking about how things can be worse doesn't fix the situation at hand, its un-proactive thinking. I'm only concerned with how things can get better cause that's the only way it will.

Oh, I'm just speaking about luck in general. There seems to be a lot of "bad luck" going around in the world these days. Like The Japan crisis for example. Personally, my luck has been fairly good lately.
