Description
So like promised, comics will continue being released regularly on Monday like normal. I had a series of unfortunate events this week, two of which included my computer dying and having to be replaced. The other being issues getting Photoshop on the computer. So if this page looks a little different or odd, it's because I am using a different version of Photoshop I'm not used to and a computer with possibly a different screen resolution. Think it still looks good but if it looks a little odd to you, that's why. I don't have a whole lot to say about this one, Mewtwo's done playing around and is ready to kill. Think it speaks for itself really. Hope you guys enjoy!Red's Journal: Training Pokemon
Along my journey, I learned a lot about raising Pokemon, but I did start to notice an odd trend. Many people would specialize, using just one or two types. That seem all fine and good, except if your opponent had a super effective attack on you, you were pretty much screwed. I wanted to know why people would do this then. Well it seemed to stem from the way they raised Pokemon. Pokemon will only perform at their best when they have formed a bond with you. When they learn to trust your judgement and grow an understanding of what you want them to do. When a friendship has been sparked with them, they are perfect partners. Advice on exactly how you do this varied from person to person though. Some people said that Pokemon liked to battle and win. Some said that they liked to be praised and rewarded, others said they liked being pampered and comforted, other guys told me that they liked traveling with you, and a bunch of other things. Well all of these things seemed true... but there wasn't anything that seemed universally true. Like if I raised a Pokemon this way, no matter what kind it was, it always worked. Well the more and more I trained Pokemon, the more and more I realized a tendency. Pokemon of certain types tend to prefer a specific method to raise them. For instance, Fire types had a burning passion, they usually loved fighting, winning, and being praised when they did something right. Whereas say normal types were laid back and generally just wanted to stay put and spend time with their trainers. Well the thing is, most people weren't really willing to raise both of them in that fashion. So many trainers would specialize on say normal type, because that was the way they liked to raise Pokemon. Well that usually involved hanging around rural areas, being fairly laid back. Well that mean Normal types would usually bond with them very easily since that is how they like being trained. Whereas something like an electric type, who generally like traveling and going places, would find the person boring and they'd have a much harder time forming a bond with them. I try to manage my training methods now, so all of them get the kind of training that they like at least part of the time. That way they are happy and form a bond with me. Ones like Jolteon, Gyarados, and Charizard have been with me so long that they know exactly what I expect. Sometimes I don't even need to give them orders, they've interacted with me and trained under my judgment so long that they don't even need to be told what to do.

Thinks, yeah it can be but I'm pretty organized with it, so hasn't been much of an issue really.
Fight's nearing it's climax. Next page should be out in about 4 hours actually.

I've thought about a few things like this. In the stuff I've come up with, Water-types in general like stability and predictability in their lives.
I also came up with the following blurb on jolteon (part of a larger blurb about their abilities in general, which is itself part of a story about a jolteon running away from home after her father makes her evolve): "...A side effect of jolteon amplifying their nervous signals is that it tends to make them prone to mood swings, especially when they're drawing on their power. In battle, jolteon tend to be either aggressive or rather skittish with little middle ground. Outside of battle, they're extremely sensitive and somewhat prone to overreaction. A lack of social interaction exacerbates the effects, so jolteon aren't a good choice for trainers who aren't willing to spend a lot of time with their pokemon."

Makes since, figure electric types would have a lot of stored in energy, so want to go places and do things.

Yeah. I really like your in-universe analyses, explanations, and thoughts on different pokemon and abilities - honestly I appreciate them at least as much as the comics themselves (no offense to the comics). I try to do similar stuff; I think those little touches are what make a fantasy world feel real, and if it doesn't at least feel a little real, what's the point of writing and reading there? Keep it up!

ooo, I love that you tried to explain why there could be a trend of raising certain types of Pokemon- that makes sense, I can see that!
Especially that I see some certain Pokemon types suit some people's personalities, for example grass types not liking the competition, battling only for a reason or a must, being best partners with calm and mostly diplomatic-like people.
Or althruists.
and you're getting better and better at making special effects on your comic ^^b

Yeah, makes since to me and thought it could offer an explanation why Red here got as powerful as he did.
Thanks, I'm always trying something new with pages, see what works and what doesn't.
