Description
So the battle continues and Mega Charizard has gotten the best of Mewtwo, at least for now. Not to much for me to say about this one, honestly think it really speaks for itself. By the way, has anyone ever noticed how freaking tall Mewtwo is? He's 6'07''. Charizard and Mega Charizard X are both 5'07'', so he's a foot taller than both of them, Jolteon is 2'07'', Muk is 3'11'', Aerodactyl is 5'11'', Tyranitar is also 6'07'' and Gyarados is 21'4''. Meaning that the only one that Mewtwo has to look up at is Gyarados. Oh well, hope you enjoy!*Keep forgetting to turn on Critiques*
Red's Journal: Mega Evolution
After achieving mega evolution with Charizard, I couldn't help but try to do some research on it and learn what I could about it. I didn't have much time though, since I didn't know if Mewtwo was only staying in the cave for a short while or if he was living there now. So I spent most of the time learning about it while trying to get Mega Charizard to obey me. There are two stones involved, a mega stone and a key stone. Charizard was naturally drawn to the mega stone, it was a warm stone and I think he could sense the energy inside it, but he didn't seem to have any idea how to use it, he'd just hold it and look at it. The key stone triggered the transformation. I'm not entirely sure how, but I think it has to do with the energy in the key stone being needed to release the energy in the Mega stone, which Charizard would absorb, 'causing a similar but different transformation than the normal evolution.
It was a temporary transformation, though not on a time limit or anything like that. As long as Charizard was fighting something, he could maintain it indefinitely. Once it stopped battling, it usually transformed back. I think there's a connection between that and Mega Charizard's attitude. He's much more aggressive than he is normally, I had to establish a bond with him in that form to get him to listen to me, even though the bond he and I have in his normal form was just as strong as ever. I think the reason for this is the energy needed to sustain the form is naturally maintained by adrenaline or something like that, and Charizard got overwhelmed by it initially. Since he usually turned back once he stopped fighting, or in other words became less active. Nobody has beaten him in that form yet, so I don't know what happens when he faints, but my guess is he'll turn back immediately. Once transformed back, he acted the same as he usually does towards me. So I think it does have a direct connection to how active Charizard is. Establishing the bond wasn't as hard as it is for a new Pokemon, so I do think he was still bonded to me, he was just overwhelmed by the new power. Don't know for sure, since I didn't want to wait to long to challenge Mewtwo out of fear he might move, so it's just a theory for right now.

I've seen that. I'll forgive it though because Mew. Mew and Mewtwo are two of my favorite pokemon. (although they are on opposite sides of my top 10, Mew being #1, and Mewtwo not only being #10, but I also sometimes jokingly mock it for being an "overrated clone of the original")

He could but he doesn't know what Mega evolution is, in this story, this is his first exposure to it. He'd pretty much have to do it by accident if he did.

Wait...does he have a Mega Stone too? But that won't work, he needs someone to have a bond with...

He'd have to trigger it by accident if he did, since he had never seen this before.

I was surprise when I found out how small Charziard was it is actually quite sad, because it means only a small people can ride him and I think that is something most Pokemon fans would love to do. Please don't even get me started on Lucario it is even shorter then my 10 year old brother, something that strong (physically) should not be that small, it is not how muscles work.

I personally like to believe the heights and weights in the Pokedex are more of an average for the species. For example, when Ash gives up his Charizard to the Charicific (correct spelling?) Valley, we see his Charizard was a runt compared to the others. Probably putting too much thought into this, but with things like nutrition and genetics, it's not really possible for every member of a species to be the exact same height and weight.
And you're not the only one that dislikes how short Lucario's tend to be.

I get what you are saying but height and weight are not the only thing that drive people crazy about the Pokedex what about Alakazam and his Dex entry 5000 IQ my ass. It can't even learn a fifth move, why??? Don't answer the question I already know the answer, I am just trying to make a point, the Pokedex is really stupid (probably written by a 10 year old) and should be taken with a teaspoon of salt.

Yeah, I knew Mewtwo had a full foot on Charizard but I was surprised he still has a foot on him even after Mega evolving. That wasn't different with Mega Y either, regardless of what form Charizard is in, Mewtwo is always a foot taller than him. In the comic I did a reveal page having Mewtwo look up at Gyarados. Wasn't intentional but turns out that was literally the only one he had to look up at on Red's team (taller than Red too).

Did that Charizard X just punch Mewtwo through the comic frame? Tough Claws is no joke.

Not likely, here he doesn't know what Mega evolution even is, so he'd have to do it by accident if he did.

Thanks, yeah I was surprised Mega X isn't any taller. Thought for sure he'd be at least as tall as Mewtwo but apparently even as Mega Charizard, Mewtwo still has a full foot on him.

Charizard is just small according to Pokedex. And Megas doesn't grow that very much, from what I noticed. At last he could surely hit from below Mewtwo's jaw, that's what appears in my head when I think of their heights...
