    Surprise, early release and happy Easter too! So first time I got an early release since… ever I think. I'm so happy this schedule is working out! Anyway enough patting myself on the back, onto the comic itself. So for majority of this series so far, it’s mostly just been a homage to the final fight of the original games. However it is a story in its own right and this is just the first chapter of that story. So this had a lot of detail to put forward. Red mentions Amber here, if you don’t know who that is, the story will elaborate on it further but Red’s Journal will cover what he knows about her.

   So this ultimatum was always planned. I knew he would say this from the begining so I was finding it kind of funny how many people thought Mewtwo would spare Red out of respect for him even if he did win. Well, not here he’s not. Mewtwo (this version anyway) isn’t willing to let a potential threat go unacknowledged. He thinks that because Red has the potential to defeat him, he needs to do something about it, and with Red only having one team member left, this would be the time to do it. Luckily for Red though, Mewtwo has never lost before, he’s never even come close to it. So to have someone pose a threat to him at all is a new experience and he’s gotten caught up in the moment. Curiosity and being over stimulated are what made him accept the deal. So he wants to defeat Charizard before taking care of Red himself. So yeah, he pretty much has the opposite view point of most of the antagonist legendary Pokemon who usually think if the opponent is weak they are not suited to live and if they are strong, then they are spared for putting up a good fight. To Mewtwo, if they are not a worthy foe, then they’re not worth putting the effort into killing, if they are a worthy foe, then they should be dealt with now that they're vulnerable. Kind of interesting I think.

   Red’s Journals: Ambertwo
   So I have not told anyone this but I don’t believe Mewtwo is the monster he’s been painted as. I do think he needs to be taken down, especially after what has happened, but I want to try to help him too. While looking to get the Volcano badge on Cinnabar island, I visited the pokemon Mansion. I’ll talk in depth about the Mansion and the other journals in another page, but for now I want to discuss one of the most interesting stories I came across and why I think the way I do. It was about the main scientist and his daughter, Amber. Most of the journals were badly damaged and incomplete, and this one was no exception. So I don’t have all the details and some of it I am piecing together but from what I understand, Amber died in some sort of accident before the cloning project was started. Her father grew desperate to bring her back in any way he could. He agreed to the Mewtwo project in-order to bring her back to life.
   Mewtwo was very young then, but even then his psychic powers were immense. He was able to communicate with Amber’s clone, dubbed Ambertwo or AI by the staff. No one knows what they talked about, assuming they talked at all, but there are some theories, and I have developed my own. Turned out though Amber was not strong enough to survive. There was something wrong with her, and she died. Mewtwo’s reaction is what interests me the most. His brain wave activities flared up when this happened, and his psychic powers began to overwhelm and destroy all the equipment in the facility. They were afraid he would kill himself and possibly them too. So they administered a heavy dosage of tranquilizer to him to knock him out and during the period worked to induce amnesia in him so he would forget Amber ever existed. Apparently it worked, though from some future papers, I suspect Mewtwo remembers some of it, possibly only subconsciously though.
   I believe Mewtwo grew a close friendship with Amber, he was a child, and he was probably confused and unsure of what was happening, who he was, where he was. The only person he could find was Amber, her mind anyway, as he spoke to her telepathically. She probably would’ve been in a similar state. I think they comforted each other, made since of the few things they did see and hear. I believe she looked at Mewtwo as a friend and he looked to her the same way. I base this on his reaction to her death. When she died, he had a panic, apparently his psychic powers alone were destroying the lab. They had to heavily sedate him to make him stop. I think he could sense her brain waves weakening as she died and this reaction was him trying to save her, but he didn’t know how, and he possibly made it worse. In the papers it specifically said Mewtwo was destroying the equipment in the lab. I think he was looking for her, trying to find her and the effect was a combination of him spreading his telepathy as far as he could and an emotional reaction to her absence. I truly believe this, and I stand by my claim Mewtwo is not evil. I feel this proves he was a friendly individual that wanted companionship. I think if he’s evil now, it’s something that grew latter from what the scientists in the labs did to him, how they treated him. I believe he was good, and he can be again. All he needs is someone to try to be a friend to him again.
