I lived on a farm, we beheaded chickens for soup. The roosters went to the freezer, then the hens who stopped laying eggs joined them. Ive went fishing and cleaned and killed my fair share of fish too...free food from nature. This is nothing new, thats why animals where given to us, food. The people most closest to nature there have been where the native tribes of America, they where hunters. Then next are Amish, they raise animals for work and food. Some animals are designed for food...but dont trust McDonalds, even this poster doesnt show you what you are really eating...the meat they use is this slimy pink goo! X( Remnants of giant smelly factory scrappings, processed with chemicals to produce a desired taste.

Really? What a speciesist mind set. Its the same thing that the old beliefs, e.g.: black people are inferior to white people so they should be slaves; or that women are inferior to man so they should have less rights; etc.
Animals are sentient beings just like us. Stop exploring them. The only reason we are doing it is for profit or the sense of pleasure. Nothinhg else.

Not sure what social segregation has to do with it..but these are strange times. Anyways, animals have been our food for a long time. Even certain meats that where once unclean for us to eat are now ok, the Lord made them clean to eat. Animals have instinct and an animals thought process, but no where does it say they are self aware or have a soul.

I saw the documentary "Food Inc." I don't mind as much eating chicken, but they go through a lot of suffering
