Description
I figured it was high time that I started introducing the supporting characters. This is Urog. He is half-orc and half-human. I'm still working out some details about his past, as my boyfriend pointed out some glaring plot holes with my original conception of him, but his mother was orc and his father human. I can't imagine life being easy for him, being half-human, (insert systemic racial oppression trope) but he's managed to become part of the royal guard which is impressive given his lineage. Even so, he might not have gotten that far if it hadn't been for Vargan's influence. As a result he is very devoted to Vargan. He is also Ghorza's best friend and closest confidante. After several weeks of no human contact, Ghorza confesses to Vargan that she feels lonely, and longs for human companionship. Humans, however, aren't exactly in high supply in the orc kingdom, so Vargan introduces her to Urog saying: "well, he's close enough, right?"
Urog does not personally reject his human side. On the contrary, he is quite proud of it, but he often has to hide such feelings for the sake of fitting in within orcish society. Despite experiencing a lot of rejection, and ridicule in his upbringing, he remains very kind, fair and gentle. His human side helps him relate to Ghorza, and she to him, and coupled with his orc side he is able to give Ghorza some perspective on life within the orc kingdom.
And don't worry I'm avoiding the contrived, and awkward love-triangle commonly found in fantasy and paranormal romance stories. Urog and Ghorza are just friends and remain so throughout the story.
Also... forgive me. I'm still learning how to draw muscles.

Thank you! I appreciate hearing that. I like when stories give their side characters depth and motivation. Not every side character needs to be particularly interesting, of course, but as a reader I like to see them develop in addition to the main characters.

Yay! No love triangle!
Yes, though... Orc mother and Human father... how did this occur?!?!?!?

Lol! I thought it having a human father would be a little different. My boyfriend actually suggested it for him.

I'm theorizing his father looked very Orc-like. "If his skin were green and he had pointed ears and tusks... he'd be every orc-woman's dream!!!!" The orc-women thus fought over having him as their slave or pet.
