This is a Step - by - Step Tutorial of how I made my sprite for my pixelID: [link]A few people asked my how I did it~ So I decided to make this. I hope it helps people who are still in the process of making their Pixel IDs!! ...or just pixeling in general
Just a disclaimer, this is the way that I pixel, it's by far not the only way, or maybe even the easiest way~ but it's what works for me.

just wanted to let you know that this tutorial helped me out. i hadn't thought of even going down to single pixel.
so i used it in coloring in a sketch i wanted to color in.
it's MUCH more simple than yours, but its a start ^_^

And the sketch-to-1pixel work is so obvious, yet it only just struck! I was always under the impression people started off with nothing but one pixel, and slowly built their pixel art. >___<;;

actually, everything was drawn with a tablet. I didn't scan anything in ^^

How much do tablets cost? On average?
Cos I want one but I don't exactly know what one looks like

tablets can cost anywhere between $100 and $2000... depends on what you want to get. If you're looking for a tablet though, I recommend getting wacom brand tablets. They really are the best.

That's what I thought too...
It looks to me as if only the lineart could be considered "pixeled".
Don't get me wrong - I think it's very pretty! But I don't think this sort of style would be considered "pixel art" to most people...
(It's also a bit misleading for people who want to learn how to do true pixel art?)

I have a question, I don't have Photoshop, but I have something just like it (Macromedia Fireworks somethingsomethingsomething xP), so would this still work AND should I outline my rough sketch in pen before I scan?
