As a person who doesn't have the money to pay for your stuff...I have a counter argument. I fully understand that your time & skills have value. Hell if I actually had skills worth a dang I'd be using Patreon too. That being said though, there are some of us who want to eat & pay for housing & that's why we can't buy your stuff. And some people it comes off like " Oh I'm sorry did you want to finish this conversation? 20 bucks." I'm not saying people who want stuff for free never come off as Captain Demandy Pants, I'm just saying there's another side of that coin too.
And if anyone thinks I'm wrong, I'll be happy to continue this debate provide you donate 20 bucks to my patreon.

Money is always tight. Trust me even if I did have the spare 2 to 5 bucks, sadly it's not going to the artists I wish to support. Like I said not everyone can support financially. See my previous replies for any thing further.

Okay I've re-written this thing several times so I don't want make a wall of text for a rant. So let me put it simply like so.
Also for the record to Prywinko if they are reading this, please note that I'm not accusing/attacking you of anything. & I very much appreciate the content you do provide for us.
I'm one of those people who laments that I can't afford the nice things I would like to have because of said pay wall. I'm not angry because I feel entitled. I'm just sad that I'm being left out, and possibly will never get to enjoy those things because by time I do, they've come & gone. Story of my life. Is that their fault/problem? No, we all got problems. It's just more often I feel that some content creators put everything behind the pay wall, I don't wish to be eaten out of house & home either. I would like it if the content creators gave us SOMETHING, or maybe find an alternatives for those who can't support money wise. We were the ones whose who encouraged them to begin with to realize this was something worthwhile to them. However this is merely an opinion and that is a choice left up to the will of the artist not me.
If it were me, I'd make it so everyone would get access to my stuff...eventually. Make it a tip jar, make it goal so that my fans who paid for it got to contribute & helped me, and my non paying fans are not left out in the cold. Linkara of At4w has done this to name an example, his full length movie was sponsored and made on shoulders of his patreon fans. I was not one of them, so I did not expect my name to be in the credits, but that movie was made by the fans for the fans and I was allowed to watch it on his site at no cost. I was not screwed out of missing one of the most coolest things to be made just because I didn't pay to make the movie happen.
Rewarded for their support in their own non-financial way yes I think so. Giving into the demands of entitled brats hell no. But again that is up to the creator not me.

Not every artist is the same. Some live off of it. They have bills to pay, and I don't think you can pay rent/electric/water/insurance/groceries with encouragement. It's pretty selfish to expect credit for something you put very little, to no contribution into. Some do have many ways to accommodate; some do auctions, occasional free art raffles, PWYW (pay what you want), art trades (where you draw something for them in return for them drawing something for you), etc.
You should check out some of the hobbyists who will be more than happy to take free requests.

I didn't say it was. I'm just saying there is another side of the coin that many will ignore. I'm not fully qualified to continue said argument. I'm just pointing out there are some who often feel like their getting the shaft because of the exact same reason.
And just to clarify, I'm not saying anyone is wrong. And if anyone wishes to say that I'm wrong.... well...meh I don't care. There's too much drama as it is in the world.
