I had people say this to me a couple times, they usually deny content matters, but the few trolls who do will say it doesn't matter for Sonic, because the video game character who got popular for his coolness is one of the very few franchise where it's content doesn't matter, even though they spend 11 years crying over older games being too serious and edgy.Anyway, refer to this chart. - psyco-the-frog.deviantart.com/…

In my opinion, story is what matters in a Sonic game, not gameplay. I am not saying I hate gameplay but sometimes even if the games are quite rushed and filled with glitches, I sometimes still like the gameplay solely for the cutscenes alone. For instance, I really liked Unleashed even if most people hated it because of the Werehog stages. In my opinion, gameplay mostly matters in a Mario game since Mario characters barely have a personality.

But yeah, everything you said was true, though I'm not the biggest fan of Unleashed though I'm one of the few who liked the Warehog, a better example for me is 06, not my favorite game but I got more out of playing that then I did Generations, which just felt like a waste of time.

That's the thing, after the 8-bit era, people started to care more about the content of the game then it's quality. Of course a certain level of quality is expected, if it's not in the content or get people attention in unique way, it wont last long. The best example I love to use is Mortal Kombat, where despite the waves it caused in arcade with parents, when it got ported to the SNES and Genesis, Nintendo censored the game while Sega took that and added a code to put the blood back in, and I'll let you guess which port dominated the other.

Content actually is everything but gameplay. Story, writing, music, atmospher, etc. I've found Warframe to be the very best in content and gameplay, but Blade and Soul and Marvel Heroes are real good to, even more now that the latter supports controllers.

No I mean in an RPG content is gameplay because it's about you creating your character and making choices. You playing the game is actually what decides most of the content.
Especially in an MMO where there's actual role playing.

I'm pretty sure they're the same guys, since not only are the physics part of the gameplay, but many of those people who made a big deal out of that also shared the same hive mind and also hailed Colors as the game that saved Sonic, and it being for kids.

If they didn't care about content, again, why have they spent years crying over the contents of Shadow and 06? Also, these people are the same as Nintendo drones if not them, and they are, who complain about the content of games on other console, namely M rated games/popular games like COD and GTA, and ignore games that would be good for them, like Overwatch and Ratchet and Clank, both of them having sci-fi content like Metroid. Oh wait, they never gave a shit about that series unless they damage controlling for Other M or Federation Force.

That's the exception because, in Noah's words, "webber made it cool to be a sonic fan again"...by making it cool to shit on him even more and because le fanny me mez. Because that's what being a fan is all about-shitting on sonic, especially anything cool, like there's no tomorrow! As they say, even if 99% of conspiracy's are false, that means 1% are actually true. While some might call us theorists for thinking there's this whole agenda going on, the worse part is that it actually exists.

And a lot of the time it's the Nintendo fanboys going around attacking every series that isn't like a Nintendo game like GTA and CoD. Forget the possibility of it being better than a Mario game or a Zelda game if it have gun violence, complex story, and edgy content it's "Trying to hard to be cool".

I reckon a lot of this is because they want revenge for sega standing up to nintendo in the 90s so now they want sonic to become a laughing stock as punishment.
