Such stunning grace and elegance combined with immaculate detailing. I feel as though I could reach out and feel every scale and every bone. It has a life of its own. I canβt keep my eyes off of it. At first I couldnβt take my eyes off of all of the bones then I couldnβt take my eyes off of all of the detail in the face and now I canβt take my eyes off of any of it because of all of the detail in the entire work of art I canβt take my eyes off of this it is absolutely incredible just like the other stunningly amazing Harmony of Bone and Water works of art.
Purely incredible.

I've never heard of Zig pens. I'll have to do some research now.
I used rapidographs for years until the wonderful Staedtler disposable pens came on the market. I do NOT miss having to clean itty bitty 4x0000 pen nibs! I've used Microns as well, but keep going back to Staedlers.
Beautiful fish! I'm always torn between going for broke on the stipple and avoiding lines, but your works prove you can do both perfectly!

Thanks very much! Combining linework and stipple is really a time-saving exercise... And an eye-saving exercise, in the end. It's the difference between ten hours of work shading with dots and thirty or forty hours of work fully rendering with dots. I'm LAZY.
I managed to miss the Rapidiograph age, as I wasn't doing a lot of pen and ink work in college. I tried the metal-nib crow quill type of dip pen for a while, but I tend to be very heavy-handed and kept breaking the points off the nibs. Brushwork is fun, but it doesn't give me the crispness that I like so much about comic book art. The Microns were hard to get locally, but Zigs were plentiful. I think overall I like the Microns; they seem to last a little longer and the nibs are a bit stronger. I haven't tried the Staedtlers, but if I run across some I'll be sure to give them a try.

Bones are *fascinating*. I gained an appreciation for them during college, when we had to do a lot of different kinds of drawing studies. We had a complete cow skeleton, as well as a pig and a human. It was interesting to see how the complex structures of each bone fit into their partner bones, and how the whole skeletal system worked together. That, and bones just look cool in and of themselves.

Yeah. I was taken by them in middle school when I found a dead squirrel in a nearby park. I decided to keep the bones, and ever since I have been collecting the bones of road kill and my pets.

So detailed and gorgeous~! I'm jealous. x.x I love fish, especially... This seems to b a Koi. <3 And koi are my absolute and downright favorite! And bones... I have to say I've been quite interested in them too. xD Have you heard of the Ossuary? It's a place in the Czech republic and it's a church with sculptures made of over 50,000 human skeletons dug up from graves! You should check it out, I really think you'd like it~ Just google it and it's everywhere. It's amazing.

Oh yes, I've heard of that bone church in Prague. There's one in Portugal, too - smaller, but definitely a full-fledged ossuary. I'm going to Europe this summer with my folks, and if we can swing it, we're going to try to see this thing. And if not, my sister, who is stationed with the US Navy in Spain, will go in our stead and get lots of pictures for us.
