Description
This is *not* a serious piece. Not at all.
You see, there come those times in one's life when one must sit back and reflect - "Did I do well? Could I have done better? Where do I go from here?" Alas, it really helps that if one gets into an introspective mood, that one allots oneself more than THREE SECONDS to think before the giant spiders get you.
This was originally a sort of "RAAAAWWWRRRRR! I'm irritated with my co-workers today! DIE, DIE, DIIIIEEEEE!" And, well, yeah, this just kind of popped out. I felt oodles better afterwords and later decided to clean it up and ink it. That was back in 2003. I finished coloring it in about three hours today, because I needed a break from some of my more tedious artwork.
I made this mess with ink, watercolor and Prismacolor pencils.

My mom is TERRIFIED of spiders... She flipped out when someone put a hair clip on her shoulder cos she thought it was a spider... Although the best one I witnessed would probably be when she was watching Harry Potter and it got to that spiders scene *evil grin* When all those spiders were stampedeing through the woods she was rocking back and forth, telling herself, "Think horses, think horses, think horses....... Those aren't horses."
I agree with other people; the colors and the slightly off pose of the Predator fit together well. ^_^
A thought just painfully popped into my head... Why did your irritating co-workers turn into spiders?

My irritating co-workers became spiders because spiders are so imminently squishable, of course.
I rather like spiders, especially the wildly colorful ones and the big fuzzy ones. There's so much diversity among the different species! I got a tickle out of the spider scene in Harry Potter precisely because of all the "stampede" noises they made as they chased the boys. Funny, funny stuff.

Really? I find that surprising... From what we've seen of the Predators, if they find something that terrifies them, *that* thing is the first prey they'll take on, just so they can conquer the fear.

Yeah, I thought the stance looked wonky, too. I inked the thing back in '03, though, so there was no fixing the stance or the warped sense of depth. I'll just pretend like it *was* a bit of serindipity that worked in my favor...
Though it has its mistakes, I did like the Predator design well enough to go ahead and finish it. I will simply draw my cathexes better in the future.

wow.....your work with pencils and the latter is incredible....*looks at her set of prismas in the big tin* X_X.......I think I abuse mine.....they miss me because i just can't make the colors sing on paper x.x;
