Description
"Septet: Exposition"Allegro, No. 1
INTRODUCTION
Silenceβ¦
The universe started its song in undisturbed silence. Here in this dark, cold, and empty place, 'No Name' had created a suitable environment for the Maestro to slumber. For eons, the Maestro remained asleep and dreamt of intertwined musical compositions, themes, and progressions.
Then the silence was shattered.
Seven mysterious sounds abruptly awoke the Maestro. Like the initial wail of a newborn child they penetrated through the stillness and brought with them chaos and confusion. Their terrible notes inspired the Maestro to write a great masterpiece.
A composition was born.
The Maestro had determined that all living things would perform a part in this magnificent score and granted each player a pulse; a note. For without a melody there can only be silence, only death.
Some notes played louder, others were quieter. Some lingered forever, others were brief. Still, each note desired to become a part of a collective composition the Maestro had envisioned.
As for the original seven notes, they were never heard from again. Nevertheless, their notes would be performed one more time, at the End of the composition. Their sound would call forth the Silence and the Maestro would sleep again.
And so goes this song of memories, emotions, and events I perform for you today. As this universe fades into silence, I will play to you the tales of how the seven notes were heard once more, and of how the End came to be...

Every so often I see a stellar pic that not only shows awesome artistic technique but even goes the extra mile with a great story behind it. This would be one of those.

Wow, your comment just cheered the hell outta me right now. Thank you so much for enjoying the art but also the story! I've been developing the plot for 'Septet' a long time now so I decided to post the introduction of it with this essential character. Reading comments like this definitely encourages me to continue the Septet project.
Thank you for those amazing words.

I've never been distracted from your work before but the little bit of story in the comments section kept me occupied. It's a unique concept and I really hope we get to see more of your writing as well as your art. Ah, and your Violinist is an intimidating looking gal

reading the introduction makes me want to make you write the book you've been wanting to do. It'd be the first book I read in a long time if you finish it

I'm crossing my fingers that I get prints of it done on time. Funds are pretty low so I may not have any of them for Otakon. But at least I can get some done for San Japan.

Gaahhhhh Damn u and your talent!
I really love this one. The monochromatic scheme gives a really somber mood and the details are awsome (per usual!)
I need to rack you brain for skills

Lately I've been experimenting with a new method of coloring/painting. Remember Grahams? He taught me about covering everything with a 'base' color first and building in new colors one layer at a time afterward. I did the same thing with Nostra too, which was why his color theme strayed more on the warm side, whereas this one is on the cool.
Maybe I should make a tutorial on it? I found that it's pretty efficient and I'm able to complete art a lot faster this way.

Ah yes I remember his technique very well. It worked out quite well in this painting and in Nostra as well.
I would love to see a tutorial on how you did this. I'm sure a lot of others would be happy to see it too
