Description
Edit: IF YOU ONLY SEE THE PREVIEW, PLEASE CLICK 'DOWNLOAD' TO SEE THE TUTORIAL. DA'S LATEST VERSION SCREWED PREVIEWS UPSomeone requested I do this, so here it is.
Here are some examples of wings at different angles. I did this pretty quickly, in about 30 minutes so apologies that the wings don't look that good.
Best advice I can give is to study birds in flight and perspective.
For drawing the actual wing, please refer to [link]

You made me smile. So very few people understand anatomy and actually look at real life before deciding they know what things look like Thanks for the break. I wanna draw wings now >_>
And by the way... you smell like an animator...

Out of all the wing tutorials on DA, I do feel this is one of the best. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of proper wing structure with the rest of the artists.

* adds the second installment* thanks! My wings looked far better after the other tutorial and i have recommended it to other artists. New angles should improve my poses. Thanks again!

Some how I always got stuck in the art classess that taught me how to do other stuff. I've always wanted to know how to draw angel wings, so both of your tutorials will be very usefull. I hope to do something with them in the future. Lately, I've been practicing lots in my notebook during class.
Thak you so much for schooling the rest of us!

you definately rock. I worked at a bird shop for 4 years, and i still get peeved when people draw wings incorrectly (my favorite is the escaflowne triangle wigs, that seem to have no bones ).

This is something I always have problems with, drawing them in different angles. Your angel wing tutorials are very good, and especially my teacher was impressed by them. I must draw angels.. Like now.
You don't happen to draw demon wings as well, do you..? Just curious.

[link] is my demon wing tutorial. I uploaded it around the same time as the first angel wing one. Hope you find it useful! ^^

Most interesting! I find all three of your tutorials rather useful, I'm pretty sure that they will help many artists out there! Especially me who's a game freak, you'll never know how many cool characters have wings.. One of them who's fascinating must be Dizzy with her rather.. unusuall wings. They sometimes take the shape of Undine and Necro, a female who reminds me of an angel and someone that reminds me of death - it's that heaven/hell balance stuff. One fanart example: [link]
But anyways, I'll fav the demon wing tutorial as well, you'll never know when you need it. Great work and explanation on them all! Personally I had no idea about the membrane that should reach the hips, though it makes sense now.

the wings are not so good? are u crazy? they are very good for a twenty minutes drawings...
well, this days, everyone has the paranoid about angels, wings and other stuff like that... me, for example, I tried to do some wings, not drawings, but real prototips of wings with wire, wood glue and pieces of journal papers, but with no success...
I think that I shoulded do with a type of strongest wire, but I didn't have at the time...
keep drawing!! I liked this post

An invaluable reference! because it's going to be a lot of help when I finally get round to drawing the winged things currently flapping around my imagination
