I used to cross-stitch with my mom.
It'll be good to get in the habit of doing it again, especially with my own designs. O:

dreamwriter2010 [2009-06-10 13:40:30 +0000 UTC]
How interesting. I've always wanted to make my own cross-stitch pattern.
Do you think the grid thing would work in Photoshop CS2? I'm thinking it would, but I'm not a hundred percent. Nice work on the tutorial, though!

RainCookie In reply to dreamwriter2010 [2009-06-18 22:24:12 +0000 UTC]
Hopefully it would D: I found most of the Photoshops to be generally the same/similar. Hmm... but then again... it was either CS2 or CS3 that took an extreme turn :0 Totally different from what I recall.
But it should! Tell me how it goes/went!

I will, as soon as I find a picture I want to make into a cross-stitch pattern.

Wat I did for me if your looking t save a buck if you don't have photoshop was print it on graph paper. After that, it's all math from there. I like this way better tho
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to SummonerRekka [2009-06-18 22:28:01 +0000 UTC]
That would work! Just make sure the graph and the pixels line up I guess c: ^^ Good idea though

I will stick with my Hobbyware Pattern Maker!
It picks the colours(and floss numbers) for me!!
There is a freeware out there too!! I don't know anything about it tho!!!

RainCookie In reply to DawnMLC [2009-06-18 22:55:48 +0000 UTC]
I swear I replied to this comment a week or two ago D: (so sorry if it's a repeat... or if its not a repeat... sorry about that too D: )
Floss number too? D: I have such a hard time picking out colors :C It's probably the most tiresome part of cross stitching for me.
Thanks for sharing the info! c:
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DawnMLC In reply to RainCookie [2009-06-18 23:30:39 +0000 UTC]
Yep..helps you with the numbers!!
I still keep on changing my mind when I stitch a new design. My punimon was like that--I will stitch with a colour -- don't like it and unpick it all -- stitch another colour-- hate that colour and goto the first colour I picked in the first place. It will happen to any design you do.
DMC does sell a colour swatch book too. It is my future Christmas gift. It will help in choosing the right colours because shades are often a bit off via the computer programs.
I will be putting up your tutorial on my blog over the week end!! [link]

RainCookie In reply to DawnMLC [2009-06-18 23:40:18 +0000 UTC]
Oh, really? I think its hard to match the colors to the threads... especially since everybody's computer monitors are set to different brightness/contrasts :c
Ahh thank you so much! :3

DawnMLC In reply to RainCookie [2009-06-18 23:50:21 +0000 UTC]
It also helps to have a 10 year old floss stash!!
But it seems I'm always missing that one colour!!

Thanks for a good tutorial otherwise
