Basically I decided to make a tutorial for who got me photoshop CS2! Thank you SO MUCH. But you don't need that program to use this tutorial. Really, it can be used in any program from photoshop 5-CS2. You can easily adapt it to other programs too if you need it. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. I didn't want to give away the final picture completely, which will be posted soon

I'm going to try out that tutorial
but I have a question: when you make the hair, how do you make the lines so straight? I mean not straight.. it's just harder to control the brush tool with a mouse than with a pencil, and when I try to make lines in photoshop it never comes up as I want it to be [unless I use the pentool]

Wow, very helpful, but I have a question - do you do all the little strokes of the hair and drawing in the eyes with a MOUSE? That seems really hard...

It's good and all, but there is a HUGE gap of imformation that you maissed. As in how to make nothing but the lines on the sketch transparent. I got really frusterated and quit.

I like the tutorial, but I'm a bit stuck.
I-I don't know how to change the background color of the picture so that the line-art still shows up but is black. I'm fairly new to all of this and... yeah. >>;;

hmm the steps on coloring the hair seem to have jumped, from the shading of just three layers, into the nice highlited more 3D-looking hair, any tips on how to get the hair to look like that?
