Description I built the Marine Dalek as a background item for an upcoming scene in my Second Empire comic but liked it enough to feature it in this image. It was also a good excuse for messing around with an alien underwater environment.

Nice work and thought. Although, aren't Daleks ultimately all logical and straight up and down? This free motion is going to be an aberration of the Pathweb. More Daleks to create another Asylum, william

"EXPLERBERATE!!!"

Um… trying to mimic the sound of Exterminate being said underwater… yeah, that was a bad joke.

What an incredible idea! It totally fits with the Dalek design and looks like it's straight out of the 60s (there's a lovely touch of Stingray about them - and I'm clearly not the only one who spotted that.)

Beautifully done!

It finally came to me what these remind me of - those plastic (not exactly lookalike) dalek toys that you used to get in the sixties. It was only sifting through a box of junk in the attick and coming across a rather well used toy that clicked the two together in my mind, they both have the same number of neckrings, are both almost conical in shape. Sorry for rambling but the connection was startling to me. BTW am cleaning the toy up, going to find some cabinet space for it too soon as I get it as near the original as I possibly can. (I mean the friction drive daleks not the static toy you could get back then).

Nice one!

I really love the plexi-dome for the eyestick, I know its a streamlining thing, but I just hear this marine dalek telling the technician 'Look, the saltwater on the planet really stings!'

Genius! I've often thought about having a go at the Marine Dalek but after this, I don't think I shall bother. You've nailed it in all it's glorious absurdity. Do I detect a touch of Gerry Anderson in the design?

Thanks, and well spotted, the tail section was definitely inspired by Stingray.

I thought so! Though I think my first thought was that the way the fins are set up reminded me of Thunderbird 1.

It wasn't intentional but now that you've pointed it out I can see a resemblance to TB1.
