Raven: Okay, boys, I know you both know the rules, but just a quick refresher: We're going to treat this spar as a 4-round match. While the first round will be conducted under specific conditions the other rounds will be a straightfoward bout. Make sure to protect yourselves at all times. I don't want to see any headbutts or low blows. Is that clear?

Scythe: Yeah.

Noa: Yes.

Raven: *turns to Noa* I know you're used to fighting with different styles, Noa, but remember- the use of elbows, knees, and kicks are forbidden in boxing.

Noa: Right.

Raven: Good. *climbs out of the ring and walks towards the bell. * Here's how we'll do the first round. Noa, you're going to focus on offense. Scythe, you're on defense. Any questions?

Scythe: Nope.

Noa: None I can think of.

Raven: Then let's begin..

DING!!!

*round one starts with Noa and Scythe meeting each in the center, both with guards raised

Noa: *Thinking* Okay, no kicks or anything like that. Gotta focus on punching... here goes.. *Noa starts with a right jab towards Scythe's face, but the latter weaves out of range.

Scythe: ......

*Noa continues with a few jabs and striaghts, but Scythe blocks them without any trouble.

Scythe: *Thinking* Pretty good form, so far. But it doesn't look like he's trying....

Noa: *thinking* He's not bad, dodging and blocking so far... but let's see how he handles this-

*Noa fires off a left hook to the face, but Scythe ducks under the blow

Noa: *grins as he follows up with a right uppercut!*

WOOOSH!!!

*Noa's uppercut cuts through the air, but Scythe managed to weave out of range.*

Scythe: *thinking* That was a close one. Most other fighters would be taken by surprise. For someone one who studied in other martial arts, Noa knows what he's doing... looks like he's just warming up, right now.....

While I used light blue in previous pages, I found a light cerulean blue that was a better fit for Noa's hair. I wanted to try a panel that told things at a glance, hence the 1st person view of Noa's incoming uppercut (seen from Scythe's point-of-view, so to speak).

This page took a bit more time since I wasn't used to scenes of that type of intensity. It was bit of work, but it came out like I wanted it to. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of this fight plays out.
