Thank you. The Mantis was a test just like Spike to see if the legs would hold up. Soon I'll go back and fix it like I did with Phillip.

I tried to drill and add a support but it was to hard to drill such small parts and not go through the leg. I found that if I made a small well with the end of a drill were the two parts meet and use C.A. glue (Cyanoacrylate) with an accelerator, it holds the small, thin legs quite well. The nice thing about using C.A., if you were to spray your piece with poly, you won't see the glue lines. I hope this will help, just let me know.

It may sound funny but I made templates from paper and glued them to the wood. Later I want to go back and try to copy them.( There are a few things I want to change to help the build)

Thanks,I have a lot of little scrapes of different woods from other projects. Your right, the head is a little blunt. I didn't know if the legs would hold so I put more time into them.
