Thanks! Yeah, I thought about that but I'm not sure I would like how they would turn out.

No wire frame or any other internal structure. I actually made this upside down, suspended by yarn so I don't have to fight gravity.

I saw this picture on google while I was searching for inspiration and ideas for a ceramic tree I am currently working on.
Somehow I managed to find it here without even really trying to look for it.

Amazing! I have a question about these tiny branches . Don't you afraid that they can easily broke. I have a project for some kind of tree , but I am worried about the tiny branches.

rebootmaster2001 In reply to verulka [2010-02-17 18:12:31 +0000 UTC]
Well, this is pretty large, so the thinnest branch is probably the width of a pencil. What I worry about more is too much weight on a branch that is not thick enough. If you look at this tree again, you'll notice that at the very top there is a branch that is broken. Originally this tree was much more full on the top left. I had too much weight on that branch for how skinny it was. I'll give you a piece of advice. Make the branches hollow whenever possible.

Yes, I saw the broken branch and thought that maybe this is the reason. I think to do the branches hollow and to uphold them with iron rods. They will look like crutches. And they will be part of the composition. That what I worry is only how thick to be the branches. Thank you very much for the information and for your advice.

Your tree forms are really getting a graceful feel to them, much different from when you just started them with the teapots. I liked those, but I always felt like they were a little awkward compared to this. I really love the branches you're doing lately.
