I've been watching the Watership Down tv series the last days
I had to doodle Bigwig.

I'm such a fan of the book! have yet to watch the movie, and though it's for kids it seems a bit drastic, still good none the less! i love the way you portrayed him, very big-wiggy

im ok with the series, the character changes in season 3 was a dissapointment. I will always prefer the movie too though

I don't think I watched all the way through season 2 even, so I don't even know what character changes were made o.0 But now I'm curious. I'll have to look that up

No CITV didn't like it because it got darker, they were afraid they were airing programmes which were getting too dark for children, so they adopted a new policy not to air shows that 'they' think were too dark.
The UK didn't see the series properly till it came out on DVD in 2005.

Gosh, I hate the series...mostly of how unrealistic it is compared to the original masterpieces...

It was intended for families and younger audiences. So some of the plots had to be watered down (no pun intended) because of that, plus original stories had to be made to fill in gaps where the stories from the book wouldn't have done the job well. By series 3, it got darker to try and attract fans of the book and film, but it wasen't aired in the UK due to those changes.

I loved the film, didn't know there was a series. I read the book last year too, it's very good and has a lot of nice detail.

Truth be told aside from magic, the only thing the series did was include more parts from the second book.
I like the series for doing that.

Apparentily it was very little of Tales From Watership Down, it was more original storylines in the TV series then anything else.
