Campion may have lost most of his left ear, but he can still hear his peers, and still fight like a buck.

I really think Campion went through the least design changes, color and bodywise. If you minus the extra scars he got, then he's pretty much the same as in season 1 and 2. He's still dark chestnut brown with a lighter belly and muzzle. Good old Campion.

I did a bunny oc who look like the third season of cowslip but she has dark green eyes and have a ligth yellow and white fur. In my artwork she is a sister to cowslip but she is kind and gentel unlike her brother.

A note on Campion's injuries.
When a big flat rock falls on you your face doesn't just drop off, get it right animators now you made an awesome character into half slender bunny!!!

I like how Clover is a black angora, and neither the film or show captured the fact that she had a black coat, or what species she actually was.
However, I do admit her albino design is very pretty. Shame she was just annoying in the show.

Nooo!!!! Cowslip you were a jerk but what have they done to you especially your season three design, the horror!!! Clover does look kinda cute in her season one design. If it sounds like I'm trolling I'm sorry, I just don't really care for the design changes. Your drawing is really good though, awesome even.

The designs for the series are not as repetitive as in the film and that's good. But there are some designs over which I prefer the original ones (hope the grammar's right, my English is not that good O_O)... Cowslip for example looks much better in the movie (in my opinion). Or Woundwort, he looks much more intimidating in the movie and a little more "believable" and can be taken more seriously ^^. In the series he looks just WAY too evil xD

WHAT THE CRAP!!! COWSLIP!!!!
I haven't seen this far in the series yet but i must say his design is fricken hillarious. Plus, why the heck do all these rabbits have beards???
What annoyed me about the first few episodes was that all the animals seemed to be able to move their hands in a very humanistic way.

Ok, this is what pisses me off about the TV series (this made me wanna chuck the videos out the window when I was 6 as well), it's completely and totally unrealistic.
At 6, I realized that when animals and people have kids, they usually look like one, or both of the parents, and sometimes like a relative.
In the movie, (watched when I was 5) the rabbits looked similar. In Efrafa, the rabbits had extremely similar pelts and eye colors. Was it because the people were lazy? No, they were being REALISTIC.
Animals both breed and interbreed like crazy, and if done enough, you will receive a common pattern among the population. So Sandleford warren had a specific pattern and variations of color to the rabbits, as well as the hutch and Efrafan Rabbits, and even Cowslips.
So, I was disappointed with how much pointless variation they had, sometimes even ridiculous, in the TV series.
Now, this opinion was made when I was 6, but I still stand by it.

But you see, character design is ALL ABOUT making each character unique interesting and identifiable, ya know? Reflecting their personality. Realism is not the goal in animation anyway, and even if it was, there are ways to make the rabbits unique while having pelts of simmilar colors. The movie didn't, they were clones. The series might have gone too far for your taste, but it did WAY better than the original movie when it comes to creating viasually appealing characters.
If you can't even tell who's who amongst your main cast, you certainly failed as a character designer.Β Β

Why would you reply to such an old comment?
Also, I'd like to correct your english, as you tend to use "you" at the very end.Β I wasn't aware you were talking to me, considering my characters all look very different.
I'd like to point out that the movie, they were not clones at all, and if you bothered to pay attention you would see a significant difference to each rabbit that was subtle yet classy, unlike the obnoxious in-your-face colors of the rabbits in the TV series.Β I think that if one needs to force a character to be designed extremely differently than the artist or writer has failed at his or her job as such.Β Characters are unique for their personalities, and although I do appreciate good character design, that's all it is--character design.Β I don't think it is necessary to go overboard and just corrupt things from the original movie and just spit all over it.Β I know the book doesn't give any appearances, but I still don't want to see a bright yellow rabbit hopping around.Β But, you're right.Β Strong designs make characters identifiable.Β And since the series is directed for children under the age of 8, that's pretty necessary.Β I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, as mine is not either, but I simply don't agree with you.

Nukilik In reply to GonXKillua [2013-11-25 22:16:16 +0000 UTC]
Okay... I didn't realize the comment was old. My badΒ
Β
And while 'clone' is an exaggeration, the characters in the movie were so simmilar that in many shots it could be hard to tell who was who. And that's not just me saying - plenty of people commented on it. Plus, the more realistc the designs theΒ harder it is to convey expression through the characters. Pros and cons there.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the movie. And I see where you're coming from - realism and sublety have their own value and certainly part of the appeal of the original book. But they're not inherently superior, and in order to take advantage of the medium of animation it's important to remember that it gives you a chance to stray from reality. My point is simply that in this case, the crew wasn't wrong in going for a more distinct and stylized visual design .Β
This was a family friendly show, tey specifically wanted a product with a certain look and tone. You are free to dislike it (I can't say I loved eveything about it either, so no beef there). But I don't think the series deserves the flack it gets. It's it's own thing and objectively speaking, I'd say it's pretty darn decent.
Also, when I said 'you' I mean it generally. I Β absolutely wasn't reffering to your own work there. Sorry if it seemed that way or if I came across asΒ condescending.Β Again, my bad.

GonXKillua In reply to Nukilik [2013-11-25 22:32:12 +0000 UTC]
I never said the crew was wrong for doing it, did I?Β If I did, I couldn't have meant it because I fully acknowledge that it's its own approach to the asthetic value of the series.Β I personally am not a fan.Β I generally enjoy pieces with a more serious tone, so I'm sure you can understand why bright colors and glitter annoyed me in the series.Β I know it wasn't intentional but they definitely sugar coated a little too much for the kids in my opinion.Β I'm glad that you liked the series, I'm just not a fan.Β But you are completely free to think that the crew took the best approach to the animation and plot of the series if that's what you think Β and it's okay ahaha
