Watership Down characters, part 4/6: characters from the series only.This picture features WSD characters that appeared in the TV series but weren't seen in the Watership Down movie. The first image is character's design in the first two seasons of the series, the second one is the same character in season 3.

I prefer the season 1-2 designs, they're more realistic. Plus the season 3 designs have tiny pupils... Although I like Hickory's season 3 design more. They shoulda kept the dark nose to keep him unique, though.

I know this is quite an old picture but it's still very awesome! x3 Was Silverweed not in the film though? He was the one who told the story there too, though I think he's only mentioned by name once
I know he's the one who tells the story in the book though
Hawkibit and Primose too; though I guess Primose had a different name in the film "Hyzenthlay"

Jeez they really nailed Silverweed--thats exactly the way he was described in the book. I can imagine him reciting the poem in the grand burrow with the Exact poise and expression as in the second picture.

I always wondered why they choose to call him Captain Broom, turns out it really is a type of plant, go figure. Still....a rabbit with a beard.....
What was the logic of the show's artists, i know some animals get a winter coat but rabbits dont magically change colour. That's another thing, i believe in season 3 they had the little mouse learn magic. WTH???

But Hawkbit and Strawberry, even thopugh they weren't in the movie, were from the origanal book. I just wish that Bluebell would have been apart of both movie and series. He would have been hillariouse! XD

Actually, Hawkbit was in the movie, he was just never referred to by name. When they're all in the rain just before Cowslip appears, he and Silver are the ones having a whinge.

Something about Captain Broom makes me want to reach out and hug him. ^^
Besides colors, he didn't change much in the series change.
Captain Broom is my fav because the guy who did the voice for him did the voice for Hazel in the movie.
