Watership Down characters, part 4/6: characters from the series only.This picture features WSD characters that appeared in the TV series but weren't seen in the Watership Down movie. The first image is character's design in the first two seasons of the series, the second one is the same character in season 3.

Because I reeeeealy want to see it!!!( partly because Silverweed was my favorite character and they cut him out of the movie! grr.)

I like the wise look in the orignal Captain Broom. the the leg markings are nice.

Niiice! I've only ever seen 1 or 2 episodes of the show (though I read the book...amazing book too;one of my favourites) I must say you seem to have drawn it in exactly the same style. Bravo!

Ah, i love the book water ship down, but... I DONT RECONIGZE MANY OF THESE CHARACTERS!!! I guess they added some in the tv show, but i hate it when they do that. Looks good, though.

It sure was a shame that Strawbery wasn't in the movie, I liked him a lot in the book.

Why can't I remember him/her? Well, the Primrose in the series is completely different, she is an Efrafan if I remember right. She was somewhat a replacement for Hyzenthlay.

It was Primrose in book. And they changed Hyzenthlay name(and desingn) in TV series to Primrose.

That's strange. I haven't read the English version of the book, only Finnish, but Wikipedia says the rabbit were talking about is Cowslip. The whole Wikipedia article about the book has no mention of Primrose.

Hawkbit, Hawkbit, I'm sure he was mentinoed in the books. I KNOW Strawberry was in the first one, too... I just can't remember much about him, it's been a year or two since I read it! Those to would be my favourites, anyway, they look the most lifelike!

Hawkbit was the one who Hazel found to be boring company and whom he didn't seem to want to come with them when they left Sandleford. Plus later, at one point Hawkbit and some others tried to return back to Sandleford, but Bigwig went tough with them. The book made Hawkbit appear like a pain in the butt at times; the series made him having a very sarcastic nature and he was a lot more likeable. - Strawberry was the fat, healthy bunny who joined the bunnies from the warren with the shining wires. He wasn't used to the new lifestyle at first, but eventually he could useful to the other rabbits.

Its because season 3 was handed over to a different animation studio, and the old animation stuido was going to do change their looks anyway so the series would be darker than the first 2 seasons.

The animation changed in Series 3 due to lower budgets or in other words, they had less money, so they hired fewer artists or charged their artists who drew a different design.
