Neat to see the designs side by side; Cowslip's designs are fantastic (the crazy bastard).

I'm going to post a comment! Yay!
Your a beatiful artist dear, And I really enjoy useing your Watership down art for reference to my drawings when I draw them just for a sketch in school. It must have taken you weeks to draw them..
And I would also have to say that in the series Campion was a great character But I don't belive he was in the movie much. And your right; They are almost all like clones. Sad really.
And I hate the way they designed Cowslip; He's extreamly odd looking. No rabbit looks like that. At least from what I've seen. (in the series that is)
I think you did a beatiful job on drawing General Woundwort. He scares me in the first drawing, But thats what he's suposed to be.. Scary.
Also (movie question) who was the rabbit who was with Bigwig when he was showing him around? You know around the end when he showed him Blackavar and then Hyzenthlay. Was that rabbit Campion?
Anyway; Sorry if my post scares/bugs you. I just really wanted to comment on one of these pages.
P.S. My favorite pictures here are of 2nd General Woundwort and the 3rd Campion.

Thanks for your long comment!
Actually, it didn't take that long to draw these, only a couple of days. I was being excited about seeing Watership Down TV series and I was in the mood to draw. When that mood comes, drawing is easy and quick (at the moment I'm in a bit of an "artist's block" and can't draw anything even if I sit 3 hours trying to).
About your movie question: I'm not absolutely sure if they named the rabbit that was showing Efrafa to Bigwig. I _think_ he was Campion but I can't remember if they said that, I'll need to rewatch that movie soon.

Thank you for replying. I wasn't sure if you where going to because you have a life (unlike me).
Hehe; I could have typed more if I wanted too..
Yeah. It would have taken me a few months to complete them. But I'm alot like you in that way. If I feel/can draw I could probly draw an amazing picture but there's those days where drawing for 3 hours won't get me anywhere.
Hmm. Yes. I do belive they said Campion will show you around or something like that but sadly I've only seen the movie twice. As I don't belive I wanted to watch when I was a child. And then I forgot what it was called and magicaly found it again.
Thanks again and I really hope you see the movie again and post some more lovely art of WaterShip Down, Now I'm off to finsh reading my Watership Down book.

I have never seen the series (oh well, I tried ... the first episode...), so this is quite new to me... I didn't even know there were *three* seasons o_O
The middle Woundwort and especially the 3rd season Campion scare me O____O
What happened to Campion?
Cowslip looked better in the movie as well... not as... ridiculous as in the series.

Thanks for your comments!
And about what happened to Campion: he got buried by rocks in the climax of season 2, survived but ended up scarred like that.

Poor Campion, but at least he survived
Now I have to watch the movie to find out who Vervain is, I don't remember him xD
Your art is great, I cannot stop looking at these pictures.

Vervain is Woundwort's Captain of Owslafa in the Book, a random Efrafan in the movie, and a completely cowardly Captain of Owsla in the series.

I haven't seen that many episodes of the series so I never knew Cowslip looks like that! o_O' Scary.
But about the picture: Good work again, especially with Woundwort ones. I love these character sheets of yours. <3

Your renditions of the characters is excellent. Unfortunately I feel the series is an insult to the book and movie.

*blinks* O-kay... I must say this: WHAT did they do to Cowslip?! *laughter bubbling up* Just... LOOK at his facial fur! And his whiskers!!! Someone get Cowslip a razor!!! *snicker*
Your WD art is awesome, btw. I've never seen the series - I'm an Aussie - but youe movie-rabbits are dead on, right off the screen. I have to say I like the movie rendidtions better, the more cartoony type just doesn't work for me. Campion looks pretty good though, and they did qutie well with the torn look of him. Woundwort looks far less omnious in the cartoon version, and I'll also draw attention to the fact Vervain has a BEARD and Clover being green!!! *laughs*

I'm not happy with how I did Woundwort in these pics; he looks actually a lot better in the series. I had troubles drawing especially the pic where he's almost black. It was really hard to find help from the reference images, because the black fur ate his outlines.
Clover's colour was hard to get, she seemed more yellow in some scenes and I'm still not sure if I got her colour right.
Thanks for all these lovely comments on my Watership Down pics, it was fun to read through them!

There's a lot of criticism over the WS Down series (I live in Canada so I got to see it, hooray), but there are certain aspects I enjoyed. For one thing, I really liked their rendition of Woundwort, if for nothing else but his physical design. I also liked Campion's more prominent/noble role.

I loved Woundwort in the first and second series, he seemed so dark and powerful, but they ruined him in the third.
Cowslip looks like a retard in the third and second, in my opinion.
But, even with the creepy parts, I like that it's easier to tell the chars apart in the series. In the movie I was always like "Wait, I thought that was Hazel?" *points to random rabbit*

yeah, that's why I prefer series designs, you clearly know who's who in that. Vervain and Campion are virtually clones. Plus, the dark shading in a lot of the movie made it hard to tell what was happening at times.
I also enjoyed Woundwort, I liked how they showed different parts to him. His past, which showed in part how he became what he became and how he was capable of listening rather than killing everything.

That's interesting how they change so much from the movie to the series. Personally, I like the series style better, cartoony, while still being relatively realistic. That's the way I like my 'toons.

He was in the movie but he didn't have much role in it There were a couple of scenes in which some Efrafan bunny was referred to as Campion. But all the Efrafan designs were pretty much clones of each other and Campion looked identical to all the others. He didn't do much in the movie anyway.
