Description
I got my slide back today for my DE. It has been restored and looking good again. This is Leon's desert eagle from RE2. The extended black barrel slide being how the gun looks once you obtain the magnum parts and combine them with the standard desert eagleThis was a limited edition model produced by Tokyo Marui in 1998. Only 500 were made worldwide. Due to some peoples beliefs, this version is NOT more common than the non extended barrel version, there were 500 made of each so one is not rarer than the other
Heres some pics of the details:

Its place on my display unit: [link]
As my other upload of this, i also have an original chrome slide and barrel set that im going to use to essentially create the other version of this gun (before you add the magnum parts) to have both in one gun. I need to either buy new internals for the slide or switch them out of this one into that one. Though its not perfect as the finish is diffrent. The gun is silver while the slide is chrome so gives almost a two tone look depending on what light its seen in

Awesomes :3. Though this is the first time I've ever seen it with a black barrel and slide . I've only ever seen the full chrome version for sale. Also I swear the gun was completely silver/grey in the game aswell :/

Yeah the chrome one is the standard version. This IS in the game. This is the extended barrel version which Leon obtains when you combine the magnum parts with the Desert Eagle magnum it will turn into this. If you dont find the magnum parts in the game then you will never see this version of it. I dont recall finding them myself or if i did where they are/how you get them. Would need to look it up
There were, like the chrome version, 500 of these made worldwide in 1998. Not many of them around these days

Heres a good site if you want a look, is in Spanish though so have to translate it [link] Says you find the magnum parts in a locked cabinet in the lab B5

Yeh, I have those images lol. xD I always get the magnum parts :3. I just never knew it was black :/ shows how much attention I pay eh? But after just completing it now, the actual ingame model in Leon's hand is still silver lol. But adding on what I said earlier. I meant that BOTH versions I've seen of this gun for sale (standard and long barrel [link] ) are both completely chrome. Never once have I seen your black one :/. I'm intrigued lol. Though I'm still hunting for a Samurai Edge T____T. Did have one lined up from the same website in the above link, but they sold out before my UKARA contact was able to buy it ><

Both for sale versions? I've never seen an all chrome extended barrel version of the RE2 one. There is one though for RE4, the only replica gun made that ISNT actually in the game. I came close to buying it for my collection but was advised not to because basically it was only made to get fan's money, its not even in the game. This black version is, as shown in that pic of the RE2 magnum. Theres several on ebay.com just now if you search for 'Biohazard gun' you will see the 10" black version for sale. Ignore the chrome version it doesnt exist in any of the games
I got my standard model Edge through an airsoft forum, someone saw i was looking for RE guns and sent me a message offering his for sale so i bought it. Theres a few on ebay as well, but expensive. My Wesker version is just a standard chrome M92F which i combined the STARS parts with. I hate UKARA makes collecting alot more difficult than it needs to be

Well I never knew about that RE4 replica. I don't know much about the RE replica's to be honest. Never really thought about getting any untill I started my Chris Redfield cosplay lol.
Would you say buying any of the guns from eBay would be safe? I mean, I wouldn't want to spend $300 only for Customs to go "ACCESS DENIED" and destroy it :/. Thats the main reason I haven't got an Edge yet T___T

I know all the gun replicas, been collecting them since last year. Taken me awhile to get a hold of them as they are all rare/limited runs apart from the Edge which im pretty sure they are still making. The older versions of the Edge are quite rare, like Chris/Jill/Rebecca specific models, the newer ones all look the same. Mine is one of the newer ones
ebay is safe, i buy everything from there I've bought all my guns from there actually apart from my Wesker one, the base gun anyway i bought off an airsoft site, the STARS parts i did get off ebay though lol. Well i managed to get this DE through customs painted bright orange so im sure it wont be a problem lol. You are UKARA registered now? If you are best thing to do is ask the seller to write your UKARA no. on the front of the box so Customs can easily just check it before releasing it to you. It makes it easier. Customs is a risky area but if you're legally registered to have a RIF then it wont be a problem at all as long as you're over 18. I did find one site where it was still in stock but i cant remember what it was now.. It probably wasnt in this country anyway but i cant remember. ebay would be safe though, all customs need to do is check you're on the UKARA database. It would only get impounded if you werent and were illegally trying to import a RIF into the country

Ah I've seen a few Jill Edge's on eBay, the one with the bright blue S.T.A.R.S emblem yeh?
Hmmm no I'm not UKARA registered >< arent any game sites close enough for me to join so I dont think thats ever guna happen T__T. Your DE was bright orange eh? Did they contact you before they did it? If it was them of course. I'm watching an Edge Standard Mod. now coming from the US, can buy it tomorrow but this customs lark is making me hesitate.
It just really sucks that most of the best Resi cosplays I've seen in the UK all have Edge's.. How they hell did they all get them cuz most arent UKARA =____="

Yeah Jill's has the light/sky blue colour emblem rather than the darker one
Oh i see.. Yeah im not registered either. Im a collector not a skirmisher so i dont want to have to do 2 months of games to get registered. 2 weeks maybe. If you're not registered you can have a gun as long as its not a RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm) As long as it doesnt look 'realistic' then its legal. The law states that at least 51% of the gun has to be painted a bright colour (the legal colours are bright red, yellow, orange, blue, pink, green and purple) I contacted the seller before i bought the gun to ask if he would paint it for me. Most people refuse to do it for some reason. I am currently going through this process again now for the Umbrella revolver. If you're not registered then dont buy the gun as it will be impounded when they discover you're not legally entitled to have it. Only way around it is like me to have them painted first. Its down to the seller though whether they agree to do it or not, my sellers luckily have done it for me. Ask them first if they would be willing to do it
The only problem then is down to the paint. Dont want a paint you're not gonna be able to remove again. I had problems with this gun, said the paint came off easy but when i got it i couldnt get it off. In the end i had to end up sending the slide back to him to take it off for me then send it back to me again. It cleared customs no problem. Its down to whether or not customs actually inspect it and if they do if they do a proper inspection. Im taking a risk with my revolver by using paint that comes off with water. I have to cause the finish on it is metal plate not plastic so other paint isnt a good idea to use. I've asked the seller to give it 2 or 3 coats to help thicken it. If customs decides to do a proper inspection i could be in trouble. I was told on a forum awhile back that if they inspect properly they wipe it with a cloth and if the paint comes off they will impound it. Customs cant inspect everything though so its down to luck. Hopefully they pass mine. Im just a collector and thats all the gun is for, i hate we have to do all the skirmish crap if we're not into that. Not everyone is even able to get to a site to play. I still have my gold lugers too with my friend in the US. Im gonna see how my revolver goes first to see what paint to use on those. It needs to come off easy to not damage the finish on the guns but hopefully not TOO easy if customs decide to inspect it.. Its risky really

Seem I best leave that Edge then . I'll probably never get one T___T and I desperately need one for the October MCM Expo aswell
. My see-thru thing just doesnt cut it, it looks stupid. I'll be there with a gay two-tone whilst everyone else has an Edge D<. Ah well not a lot I can do now. Yeh it does suck that you have to play at least 3 games in no more than 2 months =___=. I dont want to play, I want to collect! I've also just been looking around some airsoft forums for any up for sale but it seems people don't want to let them go.. Hell I'd pay up to £200 for one, I know thats excessive but I want one so damn bad.

Yeah i hate this moronic law. Fair enough for actual skirmishers with any normal gun replica but when these guns are obviously collectible items for a game why not make us an exception. We are obviously collectors and/or cosplayers so its not the same reason we want the guns. It ruins our ability to collect them. What you could do is join a few UK airsoft forums and keep asking in the Wanted section for one and see if someone is selling. Thats how i got mine, i didnt even ask for it lol. Luckily he didnt bother even mentioning UKARA so i got the gun how its ment to look. Mine i got for £80, down from his £90 asking price lol. Its better to ask than wait for someone to post saying they're selling, that way you can get direct offers first. I've seen a few for sale before so its not impossible someone will sell. That way it wont go through Customs and if the seller doesnt mention asking for your UKARA no. then dont mention it. I've managed to buy 2 guns now with no mention of UKARA and got them as they are with no paint. I got my Edge from airsoft-forums.co.uk. Another good one is zeroin
Im with you, i dont want to play just to have a few guns all i want to do is collect them and display them as part of my RE collection. I cosplay a bit too so i use them for that too. I just find ways around the law lol created my Wesker model from the base gun (which had the slide painted) didnt need the slide anyway so i switched it all for my STARS parts and now have the proper looking gun. Two tones are stupid. Hoping my revolver goes ok, i paid alot for it to lose it.. Down to luck on the day
Hopefully you can get one eventually to finish off your costume. Im a Wesker cosplayer myself but i wish you luck Chris
Oh heres how my DE looked when it arrived with me: [link] Some sort of acrylic paint he used, looked a mess, nightmare to get it off. The only stuff that took it off actually melted the plastic on the slide a bit. Luckily the seller knew the exact paint used by TM for the finish on the gun so once he removed the paint he restored it by respraying it for me and it looks good as new now. My revolver paint is perfect too, comes off easy and sticks on well. The only problem will be Customs.. hoping they dont bother to inspect it and miss it

Yeah you said before. That must suck Theres pretty tight laws on it here (which are easy to get around and can be perceived differently as alot of it isnt set in stone) We're actually lucky to still have it at all, this country is moronic in its dumb laws i wouldnt be surprised to see a ban on it eventually

Yeah is the same one. This is the slide thats ment to be on this gun, the other slide was one i bought separately to kinda make the non extended barrel version of his gun which looks the same as that though it should be a silver finish rather than the chrome
