Yes you are correct. There are unfortunately a lot of plausible deckplans for the Free Trader and I found the ones I own very inspiring but not very accurate in some regards (the MT Starship Operators Manual).
I plan to go over that prior to texturing but will likely work with hull panels covering the actual iris valves.

Actually one of the editorial staff on the operators manual (the illustrator of the deckplans) is a member and friend on here. Why not give him a look

arcas (R. Cas) is one the Traveller artists I draw most of my inspiration from. Just as much as drell7 (Tom Peters) is.

I actually have another arcas original on my canvas right now: The Type TI Frontier Transport.
