Description
One of my favorite films as a kid was Superman II. I designed this cereal box in honor of the three Kryptonian Criminals that wreak havok on rural Texas towns where the children speak in British accents.I didn't know that Kryptonians could shoot lasers through their fingers too? Has anyine seen the Richard Donner Director's cut yet?

Oh man this made me laugh when I saw this...its priceless. And yeah..I have the Ultimate Superman Collection DVD Box set ^^ The Richard Donner cut of Superman II is , in my opinon, alot better than the Theatrical release. You should watch it some time.

I own that version, it is awesome..makes so much more sense too, lots of loopholes filled in. i had a hard time with some of the choppy editing or lower-budget effects for the dvd, but I loved it!

Well its understandable I mean...the only reason we even got Donner's version of Superman II was because a huge amount of fans sent in letters and emails to the studio demanding that they allow Donner to release his cut.
I for one was over joyed at seeing just how Superman got his powers back...it always left me feeling incomplete ...since the theatrical version jumps from Kal-El finding the green crystal to Superman showing up at the Daily Planet to fight Zod. The whole scene of Jor-El giving up the last of his life force to save his only son...really pulled on my heart strings. Its just a great scene.

I know, that was so awesome!!! Filled in so many holes! I liked how Zod and Company were not killed off either!
I still am nsotalgic for the campiness of the theatrical version since that is what I grew up on, but the Donner cut is a MUCH better film!

Indeed...Donner just knows how to treat Superman...and there fore his verision is far better. And yeah that part in the theatrical one of Superman II never made sense to me..I was always like "But he's Superman! He would never kill some one...whether they were pure evil or not! That goes against the very things he believes in" so I was happy to see the scene showing the police taking the depowered Zod and company away. I learned that Bryan Singer actually wanted General Zod to be the main villian in Superman Returns, but that Jude Law turned down the role twice..so he had the script rewritten with Luthor as the bad guy. Would have been interesting to see how Singer would have had Zod getting his powers back, since Superman Returns has been said to be a sequal to Superman:The Movie and Superman II.

That was very cool! An excellent story change.
Jude Law would be perfect for Zod! He looks like Terrence and he has a great creepiness to him (what was that 1930's gangster movie with Tom Hanks? He freaked me out in that)

((I know what you're talking about but I can't think of how to spell the name..it was Road to something.)) Yeah he would make a great Zod. I still think its awesome that they got Terrence Stamp to be the voice of Jor-El in Smallville.

Yeah I know...alot of people watching smallville at first thought it was actually Zod pretending to be Jor-El to confuse Clark..but soon enough every one realized that wasn't true.

lol. Zod is at a level of evil that none of the other Superman villians can ever hope to reach. I heard that Zod was originally suppose to be the bad guy in Superman Returns but that Jude Law turned down the role twice so they rewrote it to have Lex as the bad guy.

Nice! Of all those, Mr. T was the only one I ever ate when I was growing up. I was tempted to buy a box of Batman cereal I saw at a vintage shop once, but I didn't wanna risk it.

Thank you for putting a big silly grin on my face
What a great piece -- you got the likenesses dead-on and the actual design of the logos and what-not is perfect, really gives the illusion that this could be the real deal (ah...if only...).
You've got a fantastic range of work going on throughout your gallery, keep it up!

HEY!
I paint in watercolors. I also use photoshop for my inked comic book stuff.
Watercolors are fun because I don't have to breathe in smelly oil paint fumes...plus they dry and i can reuse them.

LOL! I have never touched water colors before. I hear that they are very challenging. How long have you been doing them for? And what do you do for work?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RobbVision In reply to Kahiah [2007-09-12 05:56:29 +0000 UTC]
they are the only paints I can handle...I suck at acryllics and oils...i just could never do them.
I've been using watercolors since I was a kid....but I have been seriously using them for about 5 years now.
I am a graphic designer from 8 to 5.....it pays the bills.
How about you?
