Description
Yeah in this pack there is all the thing you need from the tutorial and some extra things. Seems like people can't do the smallest thing themselves. But meh... here it is. [link]The package include:
nite-win32-1.5.2.21-dev.msi
openni-win32-1.5.4.0-dev.msi
avin2-SensorKinect-v0.93-5.1.2.1-0-g15f1975.zip
DxOpenNI
and the extra tools
MoggDxOpenNiConfig - Put this in the Data folder and you can move you're ankles, head and hands.
VmdReductionTool_v052 - This tool you use on the motion when it's done to clean it up and smooth it out a bit.
Here is the link to the tutorial that you still will need. Just jump directly to number two.

Here I am hoping no one will give up, This is my second attempt installing the Kinect (First one succeeded on a very low MMD version)
DON'T GIVE UP!!!! Eventually, you can do it!!!!
*holds monumental speech*
....and thus the Kinect will save mankind.
I hope I inspired myself to make this work again T_T

Hey if anyone has the solution to this it would be aamaaazzinggg.
My kinect is set up, I followed all the instructions. I actually have it working with iPi Recorder /Mocap. It does all the tests in openni and prime sense. When I go to use the motion capture kinect option in MMD it says things like "GetProcAddress " errors and says OpenNi might not be installed right? I have been uninstalling and reinstalling and completely wiping everything out and reinstalling from scratch.. I've tried older versions of MMD which give me different errors one being "not a valid win32 application" "cannot move openNI. OpenNI might be failed to install" any advice besides uninstalling everything again would be great - i finally got it to motion capture on ipi recorder / mocap and i can export avi to the background to manually position models but its awkard and takes forever

Try using the 32 bit version of MMD. It does not work in the 64 bit version.

thanks I actually did get the 32 bit to work with the kinect it's hard to get a full body capture because the legs often decide to stop tracking then you get crazy legs everywhere lol

I have the same problem with the legs. I am not sure what is causing that.

theres a program you can get to cut out some of the instability but for the most part ive just given up on making my own motions - i have looked into just recording the facial motions but its not something i can directly apply to MMD stuff yet >.<

Yeah, quick question if you don't mind helping with, will there be something on mmd to record while doing this on the kinect or would I have to just screen record?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RuchiiP In reply to Hagsthetic [2015-06-17 14:29:54 +0000 UTC]
yes you use the MMD program to "record"
The model will follow your movement realtime, and when you feel ready you click the kinect tab in MMD and click record or play or start. Dont remember rly haha

What is it that you fixed exactly? I'm having the same exact error now, trying to run the Kinect on the latest MMD (v. 9.26) on a Windows 10 (which we can just treat like Windows 8, since it's been like that even before I upgraded).
I'm making sure to install all the right stuff, and I tried to be sure I installed the 32bit versions of everything even though my system is a 64bit. Is there a chance you could send me a copy of your Dxopenni.dll? My Kinect can connect to my computer okay, it's only that MMD is rejecting the Kinect.
Thanks!

Is animating with Kinect more difficult, or much easier than manual animating (by that, I mean, moving the body part, setting number of frames, clicking register, all that jazz)? Do you still need to set the number of frames needed for the movement(s) and hit register?
I am needing to know because I'm thinking about getting an Xbox Kinect so that I can start animating.

RuchiiP In reply to Mario-McFly [2013-09-10 21:04:41 +0000 UTC]
well it will be faster with kinect but there will be alot of twitches and you will have to edit it.
