OMG FINALLY FINISHED THIS THING!!And warning ppl: THIS IMAGE IS HUGE!!!
According to the poll I made not long ago, ppl want me to make a tutorial for ComicWorks. So, after so many time I finally made it!!
This is my FIRST tutorial ever, so bear with it, plz >.<
What is ComicWorks???
It's a program used for toning. If you notice, I ALWAYS use this program to tone my b/w illusts ^w^
There is another program called "Manga Studio" or "Comic Studio" I forgot, and it's the same thing but I prefer using CW.
So! This tutorial covers basically everything I know bout using CW. Remember, you guys still havta experiment by urself to fully understand this program. I made this just to share what I kno.
Enjoy, you guys!!! Hope this tutorial will be a great help!!

thanks @.@
yeah I saw this earlier right after I asked, and I almost fell right out of my chair. I can't afford to pay $100 for that program right now...guess I'll have to save for it, or ask for it as a graduation present or something.
thanks for responding

wow *^__^* you actually made CW sound less complicated than I thought. This is a really good tutorial and thank you for making it.

It is actually pretty easy to use. However, this is only a part of the program itself. There are still many functions I haven't covered yet (like panelling, numbering pages, sketching, etc) because I'm not really familiar with them >.<
Anyway, I'm happy you found this tutorial helpful! ^w^

Comic works looks nice , do you know a software that would help creating US Comics style comics?
π: 0 β©: 1
RuuiEyvm In reply to SmashR [2006-03-27 01:22:35 +0000 UTC]
It is a fairly easy program (and fun XD)
I don't really know what kind of program that will suit US comic style, but CW has a wonderful inking system. It produces fine and clean lines. (because from what I kno, US comic lies more on the inking and coloring and almost no toning)

Oh ok . Is CW a free program?
π: 0 β©: 1
RuuiEyvm In reply to SmashR [2006-03-27 01:51:05 +0000 UTC]
There are people who told me that they were able to download the program somewhere, but it's only available in the trial and Japanese versions. I never heard of anyone who's able to find the downloadable English version.
The program itself costs $100. If you want to find out more, you can visit this link ^^

RuuiEyvm In reply to morima [2006-03-27 01:25:56 +0000 UTC]
I didn't kno bout it, too till I got into this online store which has many manga supplies.
I used to use tone paper and they cost me lots of money >.< CW itself cost $100 but I think it's worth it since it contains lots of tones (240 of 'em) meaning u don't have to spend too much money on tone paper.
Toning with PS sucks... (well, I hate PS in general lol XD)

I've wanted ComicWorks for a while now, but I never have the money seeing as how I don't have a job or anything. Maybe I can get my parents to get for me for my birthday or something. This tutorial is very good. I like it a lot.

RuuiEyvm In reply to Jennaris [2006-03-27 01:35:37 +0000 UTC]
lol~! XD XD
I think CW is pretty easy to use. Of course at first I was kinda confused, too (especially trying to figure out how to make a scanned pic look nice after opening it up in threshold >.> Dat was a true pain )
People have asked me so many times how I made my tone looks really nice, and when I made a poll in my other gallery (in y!Hosting) the majority wanted me to make a tutorial, so I made this.
I'm so happy that lotsa ppl find this helpful.
No prob at all for sharing what I kno, hun ^3^
And you may try my technique. After all, I made this for you guys who wanna know and learn from it
