Description So I posted some rather boastful claims on facebook after seeing the Tim Burton show at the LACMA that I "could draw cooler monsters than him". In my haste I forgot that I haven't drawn a single original monster in a long long time. So last weekend I decided to give birth to this monstrosity. And yes I have been reading a lot of Lovecraft stories lately. Hope you like it!

No prob. A shame we seldom get to see such creativity in the actual mass media.

You might try catching my Chthulhu pic and superimposing your Behemoth head on it. Might be a cool effect...

Hi! I commented on your Behemoth because of how similar our ideas are on chaos beasties. It's why I said, "You seem to be as insane as I am!". I know for a fact that you did not copy from my Chthulhu in Space and I had never shown anyone except one person my early concept for Chthulhu, done close to 40 years ago.

There ARE similarities between your Behemoth and my Chthulhu, at least, in Behemoth's head. Why? I don't know, except for the fact we seem to be designing pics of maniacal chaos beasts which have squid-like features and intelligence. I used colossal squid tentacles for my tentacles' inspiration, which is the only recent material used for Chthulhu (my version), otherwise, the design is nearly 40 years old. The drawing itself was started about a year and half back and finished (loads added) the day I uploaded it.

Your Behemoth is unique to you. I never would use your ideas without linking back to you, or use anyone's ideas without a say-so.

You seem to be as insane as I am. Chthulhu? Or a cousin? Wonderful drawing! One beasty or two?

Haha, thanks for the compliment... I think. One beasty, done one night after a quite a few glasses of wine and a few weeks of reading Lovecraft leading up to it. haha

It is meant as a compliment. Insaneness is almost a prerequisite for a good fantasy/horror artist. If an artist refuses to let his/her mind wander freely, then their work will be boring. Your work is NOT boring!

Tim Burton is overrated.
