yes, your probably sececting the image when you downsize it...
Leave the image *unselected* and then try it ^-^

I figured it out myself as a kid xD i thought i was a genius xD so after that i dedicated my free drawing time to find mspaint "cheat codes"

eventually i found a use for that other than coloring just lines lol
