I realize i may be FARRRR too late, but ill say it anyways.. (actually, i know i am) I think that if you wanted glass you should stop at the fourth step and make a big thick lighter-colored-line wherever the light is directed (if the light source is on the left then put the thick spot on the left) and make the lines skinnier and more spaced apart as you go to the opposite side. I'd suggest a maximum of 4 streaks of those lines. ^^
