Meet Amber

Basis: GWR 4900 hall class.

info/ personality Amber is excitable and adventurous, who is playful and curious but kinda mischievous. She is also a bit jumpy or timid or aggressive sometimes, unlike most engines though her class the GWR 4900 class which are mixed traffic engines Amber prefers trucks over coaches as she finds goods traffic more interested in it and doesn't really mind getting her coat dirty. But truth be told secretly she actually is scared of coaches now hearing that you might be thinking " what a wuss! or Wait ?! that's the reason she's such a cry wolf " Well you see the reason she's scared is mainly from the fact she doesn't want to break the coaches as shes afraid her easily excited behavior might cause her to damage the coaches or hurt someone. But she really wants to take them out on the line. Sometimes she likes to play keep-away with the other engine's trains by going to go get the coaches or trucks for them only to run off with them and have the engines run after her. Sometimes she'll howl at the moon sometimes .

History/ info: Amber and her sister Lydia used to work on a branch line on the Great Western Railway many years ago, Amber was the youngest out of all her siblings and kinda mischievous. When the branch line modernized she, Lydia, and the other steam locomotives were withdrawn in favor of diesel and electric locomotives, Amber didn't want to get scrapped so she and her sister decided to run away to the bluebell railway, she had been inspired by the RWS story escape to run away after remembering the time her driver had told it to her. She asked one of the engines if they wanted to come but all they said was that she and Lydia's attempt to runaway was pointless and that they were withdrawn and ready for scrap and there was nothing they could do about it. Amber saw no point in reasoning with him so she left saying "Fine then be like that! I and my sister are going to find hope you can just sit there and get cut up like the grey piece of slate you are. I'm not going to help you ." So Amber and her sister were about to leave when a voice called out. The voice was from a goods van who had overheard them and said he knew the way to the bluebell and also suggested they take the two trucks loaded with coal so they don't run out. The two sisters decided to take him with them as well as the trucks as well as two GWR clerestory coaches Melody and Ginger and a break van who Amber had called Dominic as the two engines were friends with them and thought why not. So they set out running at night and on different lines that didn't have much traffic, a few friendly signalmen and railway workers helped them out until the British railway HQ got word of a mystery train and trying to hunt them down, Amber and her team a few time would get lost or get chased by diesels, at one point while being chased by a class 37 Lydia's front piloting wheels became derailed but they still kept running. Knowing they would need to rest they then hid on a disused track with she and Lydia's crew blocking the line with rocks and logs, once they switched the points the crew then put danger signs near on the track to discourage anyone from looking. They stayed for a few weeks until British railways called off the search. When the search was called off Amber and Lydia later called off the team continued their journey until suddenly Amber burst her safety valve and Lydia had gotten tired. A diesel came and took them to Barry scrapyard where they remained for months until some guys from the bluebell railway saved them and fixed them up.

Amber gets a bit jumpy or timid or aggressive at the mention of scrap or Diesels due to the abuse she and her sister went through at Barry Scrapyard before they were saved by the bluebell railway. Amber never really trusted diesels after that she always saw them as monsters even the nice ones were wolves in sheep's clothing to her. ( ironic considering she's a wolfengine ) she would always try to avoid one if she could. When She, Lydia, and her friends were in that scrapyard one of the scrap workers felt sorry for them and devised to try and get them out and with the help of Amber and Lydia' crew who were hiding in Melody and trying to brainstorm and find a way to get out and they contacted the bluebell railway, later on, another railway bought the two sisters as well as Melody and Ginger but the van and Dominic wanted to stay on the bluebell railway, currently Amber and Lydia work on a heritage railway that also serves industries and a few towns. Amber was scared and confused when they brought her into the workshop on the bluebell railway and she tried to bite the mechanics not realizing they were try to help. She all ways blamed diesels for what she and her sister went through as well as Amber nearly losing her sister as Lydia was in bad shape when they arrived at the bluebell and was afraid she wouldn't make it. Lydia knows about her sisters issues and tries to have her see that not all diesel and electric locomotives but mainly diesels were bad as she had met a few that were nice. What Amber never made public was that secretly she wished that diesels would face the scrap yard that way they would get a taste of they're own medicine but believes that it would not come true.

in the thomas and friends series: in the Thomas and friends series Amber is a new engine brought over by the fat controller to help at Great Waterton with an extension and to rebuild the rolling river bridge. However after she played a trick on James that ended up causing an accident on the Peel Godred branch that blocked the line and later had her insulted by one of the electric engines, which later got her in trouble and which lead to fight with James, Amber got upset and said she was going to disappear. James thought she was bluffing but she wasn't as Amber decided to runaway back to the railway she came from later that night but got chased by Diesels when she entered a yard at Barrow and Furness, the next morning the fat controller sends Thomas, James, Percy, Gordon and Douglas on a search for her after she us reported missing and was seen going through vicorstown to the bridge. So they head to the mainland and the search ends up turning into a rollercoaster ride of an adventure as they encounter all kinds of danger and meeting a few old familure faces like Pug, Jinty and D261 as well as new faces . After they find Amber and returned to the island Amber decided to stay and become a member of the north western railway.
