Description
Due to popular demands ,I decided to make a coloring tutorial .To avoid page stretch ,I used flash to make a book like tutorial .I had a lot of fun working with flash, though it was frustrating at times. I checked the tutorial 4 times ,and had 2 friends tested it /correct it for me ,so it should work smoothly .Just a Note. This tutorial is not for beginners ,it's for people with at least some understanding of how digital programs work .This tutorial is very general that means it have about a little of everything .
Tip .If you have trouble with picking colors or shading ,then you should probably try to find some good references on google (cloth ,skin ,shoes ,etc) . It helps a lot .Also picking colors comes with experience, you can't expect to learn it in one day ,again the best way to learn about the different tone combination is to find references and learn from them .
Well then, Enjoy ! If you have any questions about the tutorial , please comment here ,I'll get back to you asap : )
Tutorial made with flash 8
Programs recommended for this tutorial : Paint tool sai ,Photoshop ,opencanvas ,Painter

Nice tutorial!
I dont get the blending yet. Means you just need to make little brush strokes between the base colors and then stroke again? (I use photoshop) Can I use the blur/finger tools?

AngieMyst In reply to GhostHead-Nebula [2013-10-04 00:24:07 +0000 UTC]
Never use blur or smudge!
To blend in Photoshop, you make strokes in between the two colors, sampling with Alt (eyedropper tool) every once in a while to pick up blended colors. I can't explain terribly well, but a nice tutorial on Photoshop blending helps a lot

Thank you for the tutorial ;n;
it still was very hard to do though ._. ..I guess I don't have the basic understanding and skills for digital art after all
yet I still attempted and this is the turnout:Β
It's isn't nearly as good at this ;w; ..but the shading and everything is much more 3D compared to my other drawings ^^
so I'll try praticing more >< ..thank you so much for the awesome tutorial!

why are there different lineart layer for each part? Can we just make it into 1 layer then divide the coloring layers for each part? (Sorry if i'm asking such noob question , I just started to learn to draw @@)
π: 0 β©: 1
Katt-Kitt In reply to kuroyukiouji [2013-06-18 20:37:04 +0000 UTC]
if you have different line art layers for example you had the hair on one layer and then the rest of the face on another and you went really wrong on the hair layer and you want to erase something, you can do that with having the erase the face line art.
you can merge all the layers together but it is more difficult to make adjustments when they are all the same i've had the issue of accidentally erasing part of a face i was doing and not being able to get it back
but really having different layers for each different thing is mainly a safety measure at the end of the day..
hope this helped!!
