Hi all.

This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

I guess, for being able to build something like this in 3D, you'll have to twist your head about 720 degree

Dude you know hot to screw with the mind's eye.
Great work. This, I think is one of the more famous
Blender renders of all the Blender renders.
Classic work. Keep it up man.

Oh dude. I just looked him up on Wiki. I have seen his artwork before but never knew the
artist's name. He does some crazy mind trick masterpieces. You did a great job recreating
it though. I don't know how you managed to, but you did.

thanks a lot pal, nice to hear you dig more of his work!

if you wish to know how I did it, in a real boring fashion, go to blendernation.org and search for blender conference day two, there's me, doing a lousy interview with Bart to show how I made this one

best wishes pal

This is really awesome, but I hate how you just repeated the building. It would have been cooler if the two repeated buildings were unique

I... whoa! Talk about surreal. This reminds me of that artist... I forget his name... who did all those prints of eternal staircases and waterfalls going up and the like. This is a great piece of work and one that you could stare at for hours trying to work it out. Well done on all counts!

Thanks pal! Nice to hear.

The person you're referring to is M.C. Escher (see bottom-left of the image). He's wonderful.

Best wishes

indeed, blender rules!

glad you like it

and even better: that you refer to elysiun as elysiun in stead of blenderartists (whoever came up with that)

take care

keep it up

SanderWit In reply to TheAmiMan [2007-06-25 18:54:30 +0000 UTC]

hahaha, indeed.

it makes you wonder don't it: who came up with the name "blenderartists" since most of the things posted there isn't really "artist"-ish. I vote change it back to the good-old dark backgrounded elysiun...

take care pal
