Description Available as a print, please buy it !

Hi all.

This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

I start saying that I love Escher works!! ^^
You've done an excellent representation of his "Up and Down", watching it colored is wonderful, and knowing that you've made it actually in 3D is even greater!! I'm trying to understand how have you done it!! I absolutely fav this , and I'd like to have some money to buy a print, it's really worth!! Congratulations!!

haha, you're the first to mention . my first aim was a tichnicolor-like-look, like the Wizard of Oz, but forgot about this aim later on. Funny.

Hey, it works. And now that you mention it, I can see the Wizard of Oz influence...

Haha, cool! I gotta see that film again.

Now I'm stuck with your (also US) stupid Mickey Blue Eyes, man I hate Hugh Grant! Sorry. The Netherlands only seem to broadcast old, awful, american movies these days. I gotta get me a DVD player one of these days...

Be well.

qbfx [2007-03-02 09:54:45 +0000 UTC]

yeah, its nice, nice render and all, but why do you think its so unusual its one render, just two identical parts duplicated and flipped..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SanderWit In reply to qbfx [2007-03-02 12:22:14 +0000 UTC]

What makes you think I find it unusual? Just because I made it clear in the description? Some people asked me if it was made with a special lens or with tho renders combined, the funny thing is that it is a vertical panorama, so lots and lots of slices combined into one image. It's not that special perhaps, but nice to know if you don't know how it's done. Many guys forget about the idea that a certain lens type, like a very wide angle, so zoomed out, is not the same as a vertical+horizontal panorama like a fish-eye lens. So that's why I named it in the description.

I love Escher's work and this is a wonderful interpretation and a mind-boggling interpretation of self-similarity. Well done, it's way cool. Would love to have a print of this so it's going to my favs for future purchase.

Thanks a whole lot mate. You have some stunning fractal work on your devart and website. I'm not very into it, but I love your colouring and it has something really artistic.

Best of luck to you.
