Hi all.

This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot Dale. Have you seen the "update" version I did? It's much better IMO.

I inmediately like to start a nice conversation about religion now that you mentioned it . I was raised catholic but I'm searching for other things at the moment. Always like a good conversation about religion.

Anyways, take care mate!

Awesome!

Yeah, your update rocks!

Hehe, I mention religion all over the place!

I am a committed Christian, and I believe that God sent his only son Jesus to earth in the form of a man, to die for all our sins - the one most greatest gift that anyone could bestow on humanity, one that we did not, and DO not deserve.

Just wondering what you meant by searching for other things?

God bless.

Dale.

I loooove the perspective in this. I'm a big fan of Escher and it always makes me really happy to see anything inspired by his work. I'm amazed you got this done all in one render without going insane!

Worked out nicely man! It's propabely to make that 3d, although i saw some of Eschers works in Lego on the internet. Toch mooi dat een Nederlandse kunstenaar zoveel internationaal bewonderd word. En dan bedoel ik Ên Escher, Ên jou.

Wow, thanks man!

Die lego dingen zijn vet he!

Over Nederlandse Internationale Helden gesproken, check eens wat animaties van Paul Driessen... Very cool things.

Have you ever played Psychonauts? This reminds me of the Conspiracy level. And Escher, of course. If only more game designers had the balls to create environments like this...

Anyway, awesome. Congrats on mastering the insanity that is Blender.

Congratulations.

It sure caught my attention at once!!! i love Escher!!! and this at first look reminded me of the same artwork...

but off course this is diff...
and this is a lot harder to take into bits...and thats whats beautiful..its chaos is so neatly well thought of and organized!! i love it TO DEATH!!!!!!!! am not kidding. this is definitely more twisted then 'up and down' and i love the diagonal perspectives all mixed up its sooooo great.

I got vertigo just trying to wrap my brain around it I literally had to take a break every ten minutes to keep from getting too dizzy

Great idea to do it 3D though, obviously DD worthy ^_^ **Escher rocks **

Cool modelling but original work's named "High and Low" not "Up and Down"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SanderWit In reply to PRNRML [2006-06-20 19:05:58 +0000 UTC]

It's called both I guess. In a book of mine it's called "Up and Down" and on lots of internetsites it is called that, but, indeed, it is also often called "High and Low".

Thanks for the comments guys.
