Description
Available as a print, please buy itHi all.
This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

ok firstly WOAH! secondly, don't listen to that dude babbling about how you shouldn't copy other artists....doing something like this is good practice and besides, that's EXACTALLY what artists used to do back in the day to get practice! And that's how I got better at art back in the day so there. Besides, it came out awesomly! I mean, he's prolly only jealous he can't do something that cool. Thirdly, are you saying you did this on a 3D program....like 3D animation type stuff where you have to make the 3D grid and then color it and stuff? Cause if so it's all the more impressive....I've seen characters created on those programs and even one takes a freakin ton of work to get to look good! And this is a whole picture, I can only imagine the hours it took if that's how it was done!!!!!

It looks almost IDENTICAL to M.C. Esher's Up and Down. Cept it is coloured a bit different.

I see how you did this. Simple in concept, hard in practice, or should that be the other way around? Sculpt the "interior" in a way that some thigns are upside down, and then get a really distorted focal lense to render making the whole image work?
Either way, fantastic little render there

It would be neat with a bit more detail, it doesnt look like you made good use of textures. However it is still very cool! I would like to see this from a different angle.

Very nice, M.C. Escher is awesome! I love the cartoonish feel... particularly with the trees.

Sweet job, I recognised the reference. Something that popped out at me: the structure to the rear in the top half needs to be leant back a bit more. As it is, it makes the closest archway (above the stairs in the upper half) seem a little pinched and off-kilter. If that makes sense? I think? Otherwise, it's fantabulous ^_^

Haha, brilliant! I've always been a big fan of Escher's stuff, and this happens to be one of my favourites. Not only have you modelled the thing to look exactly like Up and Down, you've managed to make it look delightfully fresh. Kudos!

Dear god. I've always loved "Up and Down". You've done something incredible! Recreating Escher's work is hard, but to have rendered it is amazing! It looks great.
