Hi all.

This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

Yeeez, amazing.

How much of the effect comes from "abstract" modelling / camera angle or POV effects? I was just thinking about how creating impossible 2D figures in 3D would be like the other day; I guess its possible

There are very few of such things, which can twist my brain...this one does, propably because it's coloured and detailed too...gaaah, I'm not able to imagine how this model might look nor, how you modelled this. Really Great work!!

This piece really gives the feeling if escher had a 3d modeler, and its really stunning.
Great job on that.
But..
I really couldn't figure out how this thing is actually one render, but not a photomanipulation.
