Hi all.

This is my latest work. It is a actual 3D object, a bit post-pro for better colours etc, but it is just one render, not two renders combined or so. It is modelled and rendered with Blender 2.41 and post-processed with Photoshop. It is based on the litho Up and Down by M.C. Escher. C&C is highly appreciated.

Yeah, this is way beyond cool. I've seen paintings like this before! Way to go with the rendering! I think I'll fave it so I can stare at it and it's eye-twisty-ness some more later...

I really wish they would build tourist hotels like this. I mean, just look at it. You could fit in more people having the time of their lives into more efficient space. Nevermind if they get a little dizzy from time to time.

Nice adaptation. I'm curious if the curving is due to curved models or more on actual perspective warping.

This is amazing and all the better for actually being created like this in the program rather than faking it afterwards. Escher is one of my favourite artists and you have certainly captured his style but in a modern medium. A true homage. The attention to detail and the colours are great too. I cannot think of his name at the moment but there is a Japanese artist who, among other things, created real-life three-dimensional models based on Escher’s impossible pictures. When viewed from a certain angle it all fits together but move and the way it was done is revealed. He also has an installation piece that is a full-sized piano in a room but it's all broken up with the keys and everything seemingly all over the place but there is also a mirror in the room and if you view the mirror from a certain angle then the piano seems perfectly intact. Very, very interesting stuff. I would add this to my favourites right away but I have only just added another Deviation but I will return later to get this one.
