One thing I forgot to mention: to get the hard-edged look in the examples, use a hard smooth brush and the lasso tool. That's it!

so, you manage al the actual color with the photo filter, which should make all the light layers roughly the same color, and all the dark layers roughly the same complimentary color, how do you manage all the other colors after that? nice tut!

I never organize my layers... I often find myself going "WHERE IS THAT STUPID LITTLE SPOT. HNNNNNNNGH."

Organization is very important. :c

AURGH YES. The first I did this method, I didn't use groups. Lesson learned oh my god, I spent WAY too much time going "WHERE IS THIS HUE?? WHICH LAYER?! AHHHHHH!"
