Description I'm writing/making a color tutorial about the qualities of color/how they are perceived/how they can be used in art. Mm, this was to go in the perception part. It's more applicable for people who are using traditional art mediums or real world references rather than digital, so I'm wishy-washy about including it. Still, this might be relevant to someone.

Er, if you don't understand some of the color terms, I guess you can try reading this from 'Qualities of Color' to 'The Tints.' It's a scrap to test the colors of the tutorial vs. DA's background.

This was really helpful I always have some trouble picking colours to use (especially for skintones). I'm going to start using a white frame to help isolate colours.

I wish I would have known this back in color theory, because it would have been a lot easier and understandable to do the color matching part of this test I took. Anyways, I am really enjoying these tutorials you are posting, because every time I read one of them, I have an epiphany. Anyways, I can't wait to read your next tutorial.

Hi Hyoko : )

You don't have to finish a drawing and color it again : ) This is for help with mixing colors. Real life colors and colors from a photographs are difficult to recreate. You can use these steps to get accurate colors.

ah alright, now I see! thank you it's a great way mixing colours now that I understand it ^^ though I had kinda trouble when I tried it -> tried to mix a skin colour that way. for the hightlight I added a bit of yellow and than a bit of white and it looked wired and for the shadows I tried to mix then with blue :S really difficult couldn't manage to get a good colour until now but I will keep on trying
