This is a great tutorial! Informative but not so much that it feels like hand-holding. Makes us have to explore a little bit, it's fantastic.

I've made a few pieces with it:

Thanks for the great tut. Up to triangle 3 everything works fine, but where do change the ratio to 1:3? Also using other variations in the FX I don't get your results.....anyone more hints? Which triangles do I have to scale up/down?

This is what I've managed so far: [link]

SaTaNiA In reply to TanjaGrimstvedt [2010-02-01 11:09:06 +0000 UTC]

So for the ratio just move the X axis from your post transform of Xform3 and 4...
Then you only need to make a symetrie with both post transform of Xform3 and 4 just like it the screenshot ...

wolfepaw In reply to SaTaNiA [2010-02-03 12:30:56 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for the wonderful tutorial! However, I still don't quite understand the explanation of the 1:3 ratio. Can you post the params for the main fractal used in the tutorial so we can see exactly what you're talking about or post a screenshot of the 1:3 ratio?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SaTaNiA In reply to wolfepaw [2010-02-05 11:26:07 +0000 UTC]

The ratio 1:3, is really simple
When you select the Post transform you put a X axis lenght 3 time smaller than the Y one.
So if you're Y is [0,1] your X will be [0.333,0] for Y = [0,2] X = [0.666,0] that's all.
ok ?

Hey thanks for putting the tutorial up! I've been trying to do it though and been having trouble for some reason. Some of it i fixed with gradients and etc.. and now I think i have about the right design, but its really really faint, like impossible to see and i can't get the colors to fix. Do you know at all what might be wrong is there any settings I need to set first cause for 7x my colors and all arent really coming out right for anything, the designs always faint, and i've tried a couple different tuts. Thanks : )

Thanks! Figured it out actually was from not running Apo7x from the Aposysis 2.0 original folder, was just running it from the dled folder, seems to be working pretty well now tho

Garret-B In reply to Garret-B [2010-01-25 08:15:38 +0000 UTC]

Ahh nevermind i figured it out, so happy! lol. In case anyone is having the same problems, ill explain quick. I dled from sourceforge and didnt look at instructions to install on Xyrus02s page where you put the exe file in the original 2.0 w/e folder. I was just running from the dled folder, but now put new exe in the original 2.0 folder and now my colors and details work right
