Description
Ok, I give...having a brony in the house has corrupted me and now I have an interest in the show, but I'm not a nutcase fanatic. My boyfriend, being the resident fanatic, was excited when he read that Weird Al Yankovic might be guest starring in the My Little Pony; FIM. Since he and I are both fans of the silly muse of a man, this peaked my interest as well, and we've been following the story and watching the show. While watching and browsing fan art, I became inspired after looking at images made by emeralddarkness .
Both her images of Celestia: Let there be Light
And Nightmare Moon: Let there be Night .
The style, motif and poses were very inspiring and it made me look back at the Two Princes that my boyfriend and I came up with, but mostly Prince Chronos. I couldn't help but feel this style and pose would work well for him, given the persona that I developed for him.
So I mimicked the pose that emeralddarkness used for her deviations, and altered it slightly to fit to my own original vision of this image. To fit the look and strength of a stallion, Chronos' pose is a little more steadfast and directive. His legs are full and strong, bracing his stance and putting an air of force and will into his forward direction.
His head is tilted lower to show more strength and arch to his neck, like a real stallion would do. His lowered horn also is to appear non-threatening since he is a benevolent keeper of time.
Since the Celestia and Nightmare moon images had their manes and tails flowing like they were in the wind, I wanted the same for Chronos, but on a smaller scale. Since he lacks the long flowing mane, I left that as it is. I though that would retain his masculine appearance more.
for the Tail, however, since he bears the sands of time for his mane and tail, I wanted it to appear like the sands were flowing from his tail, kinda like how I had stars coming off Sirius' tail. Getting the wisps of sand to look just right with the tail was hard...and still I'm not sure how good it is, but I felt satisfied in the end. The flowing sands also gives the image a sense of time itself. While Chronos seems frozen in his pose, the sands keep flowing from his tail; basically symbolizing that time never stops flowing.
His wings are open and full, showing their span and thicker muscles than Celestia or Nightmare Moon's since I thought the slender built wings would appear more feminine. He also still retains the Pollex (Bird's Thumb) on his wings, since that was a unique feature I added for male Pegacorns.
YES, i still call them pegacorns. If you want to know why, please read my comments on the Two Princes submission.
I will ignore, and mark as spam, any ignorant comments who state "They are called Alicorns". You shouldn't try to correct people when there is no reason to, and I am not incorrect to call them Pegacorns. Re-Educate yourself if you think otherwise.
As for Prince Sirius...I wasn't inspired to draw him in this style. His persona was too playful and care free. Maybe later I'll make some art of him too.

Pardon me.. I think lifting the arc of his tail may have helped. You're strokes toward the end look grainy. It looks more like sand to me than anything else.. maybe incorporating small flecks of a darker color? In any case I understand how hard that tail must have been. All in all this is a great piece and I enjoyed reading your description of it. I see exactly what you mean. ^^ Thank you for sharing.

Actually, making it look like sand was my goal. Maybe I could adjust the color levels a bit more.
Thank you for your comment!

Oh I know hun. I was confirming that the strokes at the end look more like sand than the rest of the tail. Anyway you're very welcome. All for the love of improvement. ^^ You're very talented!

Sorry, but no. I don't give permission for people to use my characters for their own purposes.
You should develop your own character.

For me it was word of mouth from the web, I got curious to see what the fuss was about.

Marvellous pose and detailing! Reminds me of Thowra from the book, movie, and TV animation series The Silver Brumby!

His tail looks awesome.
Also...THANK. YOU. For not calling them Alicorns. FINALLY somebody who knows what "alicorn" REALLY means. It just bugs me that people constantly insist on calling them by the name for the substance of ground-up unicorn-horn. *eyeroll* Kinda morbid if you ask me. I will always call them Unipegs, but Pegacorn works fine as well.

Yeah, I don't follow the popular furry memes, which is how they adopted the word Alicorn to define the species.
I've known that alicorn was what a unicorn's horn was made of since I was a kid. I guess these people who developed the meme's don't research things and think they are just making up something original.
Thank you for the comments! ^_^
