Originally considered to be a valid species, Magnuvenator gigantis “giant great hunter” was recently discovered to be a chimeric fossil composed of Microcephalovenator megartus “big armed small headed hunter” and Ignisarmatus robustus “stout fire armor”. Microcephalovenator was a true tyrant while Ignisarmatus was a spike tailed goliath. It is likely that the two were rivals during the Jurassic period and both killed each other in combat. After they had decayed to some extent some bones were lost in geological processes and the remaining bones were jumbled together before burial.

When I was younger I considered godzilla to be a strange amalgamation of different dinosaurs. Link to Challenge: tyrantisterror.tumblr.com/post…
