Fanaticism? Easy to avoid. Trolling and his brother Abuse? They can be all to easy to run into. Then they take your lunch money.

nah, sometimes nothing can be avoided. What I trully believe is that "web-bullying" isn't much different from the real life one. Big difference that many haven't thought of is...who exactly is being bullied and what will happen if the one being bullied is actually a bull. A big one.

So can you deny that there is no such thing as human spirit or soul?

That's the interesting part. I want to find out if there is a soul or a human spirit. If it's prooven that a soul exists then I would be wrong about everything I've said or believed, but, I'll be fine with it. I'm ready to be wrong. Most spiritual people on the other hand, are seriously not ready to be wrong, they won't accept the possibility of being wrong. But that's a choice they'll have to live with

I accept myself as an Agnostic Christian. I question my beliefs because I think thats the only way to truly understand your faith. If anyone just blindly believes in something then they are the most ignorant people in the world. So Im ready to believe anything I find to make sense. Noone necesarily is ready to give up their faith...

no buddy, I agree that you're an impolite and I agree that you got blocked. Cheers. Just to let you know, you're not smart at all, you just pose like you are. But when going against people like me, your ignorance and total abscense of logic is more than apparent. So, in the end, YOU FAIL.

Oh WOW! How very true each statement is and I'm amazed but not surprised by what our true thinkers of the world think of religion. Though for reasons of my own, I do believe in a higher being, I do not categorize it as even human so not bound by human emotions nor beliefs. I think of it as a interested bystander who watches all facets of human life for reasons of its own. Apparently, we are of interest to it so it hangs around. Maybe it even intercedes in our doings at times, but not for any purpose we might understand.
This excellent and very thoughtful work. I love it.

Friendly side note: I'm a Christian, but I'm specifically an Episcopalian. And what I've always loved about it is that we don't simply push blind faith. We encourage learning, questioning, doubting, and reasoning. Maybe the other way works for some people, but it can certainly be intimidating. My point is that there is a religion of logic, and I find that refreshing. Not pushing it on you, just sharing a story P.S. I am a religious person, and I still find your "Choose Your Gods" picture quite funny!

Lol don't worry, you're not the first to ask and you won't be the last. In summary, King Henry VIII of England broke away from the Catholic church in the 1600s and made the Anglican church. In the 1700s, most of the original American colonists were English and therefore were also Anglican. After the Revolutionary War, most of the American citizens were still Anglican and wanted to keep their religion but didn't want it to have an English identity. So they changed the name from "Anglican" to "Episcopal." Basically, the only difference between Anglicans and Episcoplians is the geographical location. Phew, hope that wasn't too much!

Thank you I know that there are religions that are certainly not "pushing" their faith on believers on non-believers. It's always good to have people with reason around even if they don't share the same beliefs. Sadly though, the "reasonable" people, the people that are able to co-exist with non-believers, are a minority. At least for now, they are

Sc1r0n In reply to Professor-Fox [2011-06-22 17:30:07 +0000 UTC]
Thank you Well, every quote I chose shows that people who translated (yup, translated) all the "holy" books, had little to no understanding about the true meaning of religion and believing to ONE God instead of many. Religion in the first place was not created for people to follow some rules blindly, go to church, be good, and pray. Religion was created because the people needed something to believe in. The times most religions flourished, were dark times, and people needed something to keep them happy, they needed a good reason to stay happy.
Some people may have noticed that many religions are being "created" the last few years...

Ummm ... seems to me the REALLY dark times were the ones when religion was in control and keeping people from living, enjoying, and participating in life -- everything was geared for the "hereafter."
