Description
When Tommy shouts, “Dragonzord”, he morphs into the Green Ranger, the sixth member of the Power Rangers team. Tommy first got his powers when Rita Repulsa cast an evil spell on him. She ordered him to destroy the Power Rangers, and almost succeeded. Fortunately, the other Rangers did not give up on him. After learning the truth, Jason destroyed the Sword of Darkness and broke the spell. Tommy was immediately invited to join the team, and he accepted. (MMPR1: Green with Evil)
After joining the Power Rangers, Tommy stayed a loner, often forgetting to wear his communicator. Nevertheless, he was always there for the Power Rangers whenever he was needed.

Tommy’s time as the Green Ranger was short lived. Rita created a green candle which could transfer his powers back to her. A mission to retrieve the candle from Rita’s Dark Dimension ended in failure, and the candle burnt out. To keep the Green Ranger powers from falling back into Rita’s control, Tommy gave his Power Coin to Jason, keeping them out of Rita’s hands, and allowing Jason to control the Dragonzord. Tommy left Angel Grove shortly afterward. (MMPR1: The Green Candle)

When the Power Rangers’ parents were held for ransom by Rita, the Rangers were forced to surrender their Power Coins; all except one. Tommy was summoned back to the Command Center and was infused with a large amount of Zordon’s energy, becoming the Green Ranger once again. Tommy was successful in retrieving the Dragon Dagger and the Power Coins before the infusion wore off. The force field protecting the Power Coins gave Tommy a large power boost. Though he was told that his powers would eventually run out, Tommy chose to continue being the Green Ranger. (MMPR1: Return of an Old Friend)

When Lord Zedd arrived to try and succeed where Rita failed, his first task was to eliminate the Green Ranger, whom he saw as the weakest in terms of power. After several battles with Zedd’s monsters, the Green powers were finally drained. (MMPR2: Green No More)
